ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
FOR THURSDAY, DECEMBER 31ST, 2020
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a special occasion!!
Hallmark
Today is New Year’s Eve which is a day celebrate the end of the year. In the United States it is usually a major social holiday. Typically huge crowds gather to watch the ball drop in Times Square, a tradition that began in 1907 after firecrackers were autlawed. At midnight it’s customary to kiss a loved one, toast with champagne, and sing Auld Lang Syne.
This special occasion is celebrated across the globe. Many cultures have fireworks displays and festivities to celebrate the start of the New Year. In Mexico, people make a wish and eat a grape with each of the 12 chimes of the bell; during the countdown to the New Year. In Brazil, they typically dress in white to bring good luck and peace for the year to come.
Celebrate New Years Eve at home with your family or virtually with your friends and enjoy the countdown to midnight. Happy New Year !
If you can’t see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Life is not about expecting, hoping and wishing, it’s about doing, being and becoming.
Mike Dooley
Our family will be doing a virtual visit here this New Years’ Eve. We’ll all gather round our computers and get to see and talk to each other to see the New Year in. It’s not our normal, but there’s nothing about 2020 that was normal. The pictures today are of when I was in Florida to see the New Year in.last year. I was with DS#4 and his family and little did we know what was coming our way. We went out to dinner and enjoyed the evening together without any cares or woes.
I guess we’ll all be glad to see this year end, and look forward to brighter days ahead. I’m hoping that this year, maybe I can get back there again. If I’m really lucky, maybe the kids will get me a ticket to Florida for my birthday this year. I’ll be 77 and that is a lucky number.
Meanwhile, I’m going to try to stay awake and watch the ball drop on TV tonight. I don’t always stay up that late so it may take some effort. Usually someone calls shortly after midnight to wish me a happy new Year. That maybe what wakes me up. We’ll see…
I hope that what ever you do or who your with makes for a Happy New Years’Eve at your house.
I hope you all have a Happy New Year’s Eve!

Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

Enjoy your virtual festivities this evening. Wishing you and your beautiful family all the best and many blessings in the coming year! ((Big hugs))
Love your family's creativity! I've a friend who reminds me, "Sometimes you have to think outside the box." Think I'm going to go take a nap now, so there's a better chance I can stay awake. Happy New Year blessings!
We watched the ball drop in Time Square a few minutes ago so we welcomed in the new year though we still have about 2 hours before it is officially here in Arizona. I'm sure I'll be asleep by the time the ball drops here :)
