ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
FOR THURSDAY, DECEMBER 10TH, 2020
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is Human Rights Day which originated on December 10, 1948 when the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. It reminds us to honor and stand up for basic human rights, no matter your location or circumstances.
The Universal Declaration of Human Rights is the most translated document in the world. It’s been translated into over 500 languages. While it is not legally binding it is still an ever important document and is highly influential in international law.
To celebrate, spend a few minutes learning about your human rights as a world citizen and tell someone else about the importance of fundamentals rights.
If you can’t see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Freedom from fear could be said to sum up the whole philosophy of human rights.
Dag Hammarskjold
I believe we are all created equally and all deserve the basic human rights. Human rights are basic rights and freedoms that belong to all of us. Everyone has these rights simply because they are human. Sadly there are places in the world where these rights are abused and people are not treated as they should be. My prayer would be that today we’d all be treated equally and honorably.
One thing I was taught growing up is that I’m no better than anyone else and nobody else is better than me either. We are all equal. It’s defininitely a good thing to remember
Even though I’ve not done much at all this week, time certainly has been flying by. You’d think with little going on it would just creep along. But that is not so. I’m just thankful for every day I get and try to do the best with what I’ve got.
Although it’s been dark and cloudy, the weather has remained mild and no more snow storms have come our way, We can be thankful for that much for sure.
The pictures today are if a beautiful sunset we enjoyed the other evening. Sunsets always remind me to be thankful for the blessings of the day.
I hope you all have a GREAT day. Happy Thursday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Give to every human being every right you claim for yourself.
Robert G. Ingersoll
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
8717. for human rights for all
8718.for equality, we are all one
8719. for every new day that comes
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
ADVICE FOR TODAY
Commit yourself to the noble struggle for human rights. You will make a greater person of yourself, a greater nation of your country and a finer world to live in.
Martin Luther King, Jr.
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…

Always treat others the way you would want to be treated.
Definitely a good thing to always remember! That sunset shot is beautiful, glad the snow is staying away for now :)
I LOVE that sign ... did you paint that?
Human rights wasn't something discussed in my 'growing up' home. Nevertheless, I will treat a janitor the same way I would a CEO. (I think that's a saying going 'round FB, but can't be sure.)
Sure wish unborn babies had some of those human rights :(
Beautiful sunset!

It's a Merry Christmas season!!!
