ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
FOR FRIDAY, DECEMBER 25TH, 2020
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a special occasion!!
Hallmark
Today is Christmas which is our opportunity to deck the halls with boughs of holly and be jolly. This is a Christian holiday, marking the birth of Jesus. It is a joyous occasion celebrated with loved ones and traditional festivities often include a Christmas feast, gift exchanges, church celebrations , a visit from Santa and holiday parties, although this year it will be smaller gatherings.
In 1649 to 1660 Oliver Cromwell banned Christmas carols and parties in England. He thought Christmas should be a solemn holiday and the only celebrations should be church services. This law obviously didn’t last.
So hang up a Christmas wreath, enjoy some delicious Christmas cookies at home, kiss a loved one under the mistletoe, or take part in a virtual gift exchange.. However you decide to celebrate today, make sure you wish you friends and family a Merry Christmas!
If you can’t see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
What is Christmas? It is tenderness for the psst, courage for the present, hope for the future.

I hope you all are enjoying a Merry Christmas. Today I’m going to join DS#5 and his family for dinner. They are coming to get me and will bring me home, just in case the roads are bad.
I had a quick visit with one of my nieces and nephews yesterday morning, they brought me a lovely Christmas bouquet, and then in the afternoon headed to my sisters to help make turnovers for Christmas. She said I could have some to eat if I came to help and I do love them.
Tomorrow I’ll celebrate with DD and her family when we gather on Zoom with the family. It’s turned out to be a Merry Christmas here, even though it is very different.
On the menu for today is ham, potato salad and baked beans. This is a favorite meal for me and often enjoy it on Christmas. I bake my ham covered with pineapple slices and cherries, making its Christmassy.
The pictures today are from last Christmas when some of us gathered at Church as a family. This year it will be done live streaming on the computer.
I hope you all have a MERRY Christmas!. Have a FASTASTIC Friday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
One of the most glorious messes in the world is the mess created in the living room on Christmas Day. Don’t clean it up too quickly.

Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.

Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
