ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
FOR MONDAY, DECEMBER 21ST, 2020
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is Look on the Bright Side day which is a day to be optimistic. Even if today with the winter solstice is the shortest day of the year and it is often cloudy during the season, you should remain optimistic.
Optimism is a mental attitude or world view that interprets situations and events as being the best, meaning that is some way for factors that may not be fully comprehended, the present moment is in an optimism state. The concept is typically extended to include the attitude of hope for future conditions unfolding as optimal as well
A common idiom used to illustrate optimism versus pessimism is glass with water at the halfway point, where the optimist is said to see the glass as half full, but the pessimist sees the glass as half empty.
Always look on the bright side of life.
Graham Chapman
If you can’t see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
The habit of looking on the bright side of every event is worth more than a thousand pounds a year.
Samuel Johnson
On the bright side, even though this is the shortest day of the year, from now on each day will get longer, one minute at a time until summer comes. We won’t see much difference for a while, but the thoughts of longer days and more sunlight is just what I need right now. These short dark days to tend to get to me. I could just hibernate all winter long. Sleeping my days away.
I am very affected by the day light and always feel better when the sun is shinning. I do envy those that can go south for the winter. It’s good I have memories of our family Florida Christmas vacation last year which is what the pictures are of today. These warm memories will see me through many dark days this winter.
This Christmas will be very different. But at least I had the chance to experience it one time in my life. I’m hoping I’ll be able to do it sometime again too. Right now I wouldn’t feel safe traveling, but thankfully it won’t stay this way forever. Everything changes sooner or later.
I hope you all have a GREAT start to this new week. Happy Monday!

Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

Always look on the bright side ! Every may not be a good one, but there is something good to be found in every day when we take the time to look for it.
Look on the Bright Side Day sounds like it was made just for you! Thank you again for always bringing us to the bright side with you! :)
Hard to grasp it's been a year since you were all together in the Sunshine State! Is your family planned anything for 2021? Not wishing time away, necessarily -- but it always cheers me up when I have something to look forward to.
It was neat you all had that trip last year Ma for those that could participate in it. Surely a wonderful adventure! I love a sunshiny day so I know what you mean if you don't get the light you need. Thankfully we are over the "hump" and the days start brightening up a bit day by day!
