ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
FOR THURSDAY, DECEMBER 17TH, 2020
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is Bake Cookies Day which is the perfect day to do some holiday baking.
People have been baking cookies during Christmas since the Middle Ages. Around this time, spices and dried fruits were becoming popular ingredients used in pastries and baked goods. As accessobility to these ingredients became more widespread, families began to bake delicious cookies to share with neighbors at Christmas. Now the most popular types of cookies to bake at Christmas include classic sugar cookies, gingerbread cookies, crinkle cookies and many more.
To celebrate, bake a batch of tasty cookies to share or drop off to friends. Happy Bake Cookies Day!
If you can’t see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Cookies are made of butter and love.

I haven’t baked a single cookie this year, mainly because it’s only me here to enjoy them. I’d have to eat them all myself. But I did buy a delicious looking cookie tray at the grocery store. It will be nice to have just incase someone drops in for coffee.
The older I get, the more I take the simplest way out. I don’t need a lot of cookies sitting around here only to be thrown out later on.
The cookie pictures shown today are from one of our past Christmas family gatherings a few years ago.
We had some light snow showers when I went out to shop yesterday. Yes we once again have so snow on the ground but it’s only a light dusting . Those to the east and north of us could see as much as a foot of snow. But here it’s not bad at all. It’s looking like we will have a white Christmas this year as our temps are staying right around the mid 30’s.. We’ll see if it it gets warm enough two melt it.
Everyone loves a white Christmas. But for me it could stop snowing after that, but sadly we will have snow from now until sometime in April. I’ll soon be counting down the days until Spring.
I hope you all have a GREAT day. Happy Thursday!

Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

Nothing says lovin' like something from the oven.
Yummy on all the cookie pictures!! I'm going the simple easy route this year. I saw a kit at Wal-Mart that the cookies are already made, you can just decorate them. Will do so with the grand kids this weekend :)

Those cookies all look so delicious! No baking for me this year either for the same reasons. Glad you aren't getting too much snow. Stay warm!
Yummy! We rarely eat sweets, but being up in Birmingham, we made an exception and hot a couple slices at Cheesecake Factory. "When in Rome....".
Wish you could huff and puff and send some of that snow down this way!
I baked the rest of the fruitcake cookie dough I had stored in the fridge today. Made the house smell so good!
