ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
FOR SUNDAY, DECEMBER 27TH, 2020
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is Make Cut Out Snowflakes Day which are traditional seasonal images or motifs used around the Christmas period, expecially in Europe and the United States. It represents the traditional white Christmas. During this time it is quite popular to make paper snowflakes by folding a piece of paper and cutting out a pattern with scissors and then unfolding it.
A snowflake is either in a single ice crystal or and aggregation of ice crystals which falls to the Earth’s atmosphere. They begin as snow crystals which develop when microscopic supercooled cloud droplets freeze. Snowflakes come in a variety of sizes and shapes, such that individual snowflakes are nearly unique in structure. No two are ever alike.
If you can’t see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Every snowflake is unique, yet they are each perfect.

I love to cut out snowflakes and decorate them with sprinkles and sparkles. Snow does glisten when the sun shines on it. One of the most beautiful sights in the world is to see them sparkle when they fall down the ground. I have some snow flakes here on the windows of my house, but truly they are not needed. There is plenty of snow on the ground and we did have a white Christmas.
We are going to warm up a little today and the temps will rise above freezing, so wo I’m hoping that some of it will begin to melt. I put off shoveling the driveway again, although it probably needed it. DS#5 had snow blowed it out for me on Christmas Day, but it snowed more after that. However I didn’t need to go anyplace so due the cold, it didn’t get cleared again. That’s why I’m hoping today some of it melts away. We may get some rain showers instead of snow, hopefully that won’t make it too slippery out .
DD and her hubby gave me a ride yesterday and today I’m staying in. No need to go out and I’m content just to watch church services on line. Its quickly becoming habit for me.
Some day in the future that will hopefully change and by then I figure the weather will also be a bit better than it now but who knows? The future is an unknown quantity. All we can do is the best we can with each day as it comes.
I have plenty of leftovers to eat here and it makes for some good food. Goodies from Christmas make wonderful leftovers. DS#5 sent home lasagna and sausage bread and DD sent home some appetizers. And I have Christmas cookies for dessert so that makes me a happy camper for sure.
I hope you all have a RELAXING Sunday!

Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
Begin doing what you want to do now. We are not living in eternity. We have only this moment, sparkling like a star in our hand and melting like a snowflake. Let us use it before it too late.

Just now received word that DS#L's mom died this morning, May she rest eternal peace and may perpetual light shine upon her. Please keep them all in your prayers.
Glad it's warming up a bit! We are still having leftovers here today too. In addition to all the food I had for Christmas and Christmas Eve my daughter brought over all kinds of other dishes to share.
I'm so sorry to hear DSIL's mom passed. Prayers on the way.
Oh no! I was all set to leave a cheery comment when I read your sad news. Praying right now for the peace that surpasses all understanding.
I'm glad to know you're staying safe and warm, Ma. Sending you hugs across the miles!
So sorry to hear about DSIL's mom's passing. Prayers for all. Seems like you have a good plan to stay toasty and warm today Ma without having to go out :)

I love how you count down the days to the next season. We have not experienced any real winter weather this year here in Texas. WE may still get some and I do like a little winter!
Saying a prayer for your family....losing a loved one would be extra hard here at Christmas time, I would think.
Praying for the family and glad you are all set to stay in safe and warm.
