Decide to be happy today, to live with what is yours – your family, your business, your job, your luck. If you can’t have what you like, maybe you can like what you have.
Just for today, be kind, cheerful, agreeable, responsive, caring, and understanding. Be your best, dress your best, talk softly, and look for the bright side of things. Praise people for what they do and do not criticize them for what they cannot do. If someone does something stupid, forgive and forget. After all, it’s just for one day.
Who knows, it might turn out to be a nice day.
Always think on the bright side--no matter what life brings to your day. You'll gain a treasure within your soul that no worry or hardship can ever take away. Isaac Purcell
RECIPES AND CRAFTS
The labels shown below will take you to posts with recipes and a few craft ideas that I've included in my daily entries.
I'm looking out the window and the day is drab and dreary, And I'm trying to console myself by thinking something cheery I know it's simply horrible to get in such a slump And I also know it's up to me to get across the hump And I realize I'm selfish to mention this to you For, gee, you might be feeling a little 'low-down' too but often when I feel like this I tell myself it's true That I am not the only one who feels 'low-down and blue' And just knowing there are others who feel the way I do Renews my sinking spirit and keeps me smiling through and know that it's natural to take a 'spirit-dive' Provides the spunk and courage to hang on and survive And while there are a lot of moods that we can drive away by looking on the BRIGHT SIDE in all we do and say, There also is a loneliness that God meant us to feel But, gee, it sure is mighty hard to know which one is real And I'd hate to be a 'sad sack' who never saw the sun And just complained that every day was such a dreary one. But I know that all the dark days are just part of God's plan We should accept them graciously and do the best we can... So I'll just keep on trying for I know it's 'Gospel true' there never was a cloud so dark the sun could not shine through!

On the Bright Side Newsletter
I send this little letter out each morning to all my family and friends and even to a few people that I've never met. Many of them send it on to others too. So in order to make it available to more people I post the 'brighter side' of the news here each day in this journal. The letter began as an effort to keep in touch with my family as they are spread out in all directions. My family, friends and God are the most important things in my life. You'll find quotes, poems and stories and even a few recipes included in this newsletter. I try to find something new each day to share. In a world that very often publishes only the dark side of things I felt that others would be encouraged to hear about 'the bright side'. 'On Ya'-ma

ON THE BRIGHT SIDE OF LIFE
The comfortable and comforting people are those who look upon the bright side of life; gathering its roses and sunshine and makingthe most that happens seem the best.
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is National Oreo Cookie Day which celebrates a chocolate cookie with a cream filling that we all know and love. The Oreo sandwich is made using powdered sugar, vanilla extract, water, granulated sugar and shortening.
Americans have been enjoying Oreas for over a century with the first Oreo being sold to a grocer in Hoboken, N. J. The cookie has since become the best selling in the United States. There are tons of unique Oreo flavors, a few examples being Birthday cake, Cookie Dough, and banana split flavored cookies.
To celebrate today, pour yourself a cold glass of milk and indulge in some Oreo cookies !
If you can't see the bright side, polish the dullside
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
People have got to learn: if they don’t have cookies in the cookie jar, they can’t eat cookies.
Size Orman
I love Orea Cookies, my favorite are the chocolate with plain cream filling. I like to have a glass of milk with them because they are so sweet.
Some people like to take them apart and eat the filling first, but I like mine whole. They are delicious!
This is my day of rest and the only thing on my agenda is making my list of what needs to be done next week. I have to go for more lab work on Wednesday, make up a new menu and go shopping., They had changed my meds and want to check and see if they are working. My birthday is on Tuesday, but I won’t be celebrating with my family until the 12th. It will be a busy week, but I’m resting up today so I can get it all done. It’s important to be good to yourself so you can be good for others.
Next Sunday daylight savings time begins and we’ll need to remember to turn our clocks ahead one hour. Truthfully it seems like we just turned them back one hour, the time goes by so fast.
I have my left over pork chops to heat up for dinner today so there will not be any need to cook. I can just rest and relax.
I hope you all have a RELAXING Sunday!!

You're blessed when you're content with just who you are—no more, no less. That's the moment you find yourselves proud owners of everything that can't be bought
We trust the meds are working. Enjoyed the quotes and family pic. Now just remember the meds work ONLY if you have an OREO and a glass of milk, ok, maybe 2 or 3 Oreos. Love from the southern sunshine, awaiting Spring. Sherry & jack
Happy early birthday, Ma! Oreos and milk are one of my Tom's favorite snacks. Unfortunately, we've no cookies on hand; he's having to make do (lol) with the leftover German Chocolate cake. I think there's 5 containers still remaining in the freezer!
