Today is Chocolate Covered Raisin Day which is a delicious fruit and chocolate snack. Nestle Raisinets are one of the most popular candies for movie goers. People can’t get enough of them.
Culinary historians believe that humans first discovered raisins when they came across grapes drying on a vine. These sun dried morsels soon became one of the most popular food sweeteners, second only to honey. Raisins are an excellent source of fiber, potassium, iron and calcium and certain B vitamins. Add some dark chocolate into the mix and you’ll get a healthy dose of antioxidants and important minerals.
To celebrate today, enjoy a handful of chocolate convered raisins in honor of the day.

I like to have chocolate covered raisins on hand for the holidays. They are a special treat that I don’t often have. For me they are a party food. It’s nice to know that they are a healthy snack to eat too. Good and good for you!
I got my car back from the garage yesterday. Now I should be good to go. I’m headed out today to get my e check and my new driver’s license sticker. What a relief it will be to have that all done. And I owe a big thank you to my kids for helping me get this done !
We’re starting out in the 50’s today but our temps are going down from here on. Colder and possibly snowy days are ahead.
