ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
SUNDAY,MARCH 13TH, 2022
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today Daylight Saving time begins and we celebrate the clocks springing forward an hour so that evenings have more daylight and mornings have less.
Most of North America shifts at 2:00 am local time, so it zones do not shift at the same time, for example, Mountain Time can be temporaily whether zero or two hours ahead of Pacific Time.
Daylight saving time, also summer time in several countries, is the practice of advancing clocks ahead so that the evenings have more daylight and mornings have less. Typically clocks are adjusted forward one hour near the start of spring and are adjusted backward in Autumn. The modern idea of daylight saving time was first implemented during the First World Wary. Many countries have used it at various time since then.
The practice has been both praised and criticized. Adding daylight to the evenings benefits, retailing, sports and other activities that exploit sunlight after working hours, but can cause problems for evening entertainment and other occupations tied to the sun.
Although an early goal of DST was to reduce evening usage of incandescent lighting, formerly a primary use of electricity, modern heating and cooling usage posterns differ greatly and research about how DST currently affects energy use is limited or contradictory.
Starting 2007, most of the United States and Canada observed DST from the second Sunday in March to the first Sunday in November, almost 2/3 of the year. The 2007 US change was part of the Energy Policy Act of 2005. Previously from 1987 through 2006, the start and end dates were the first Sunday in April and the last Sunday in October, and Congress retains the right to go back to the previous dates no that an energy consumption study has been done.
DST clock shifts present challenges. They complicate time keeping and can disrupt meetings, travel, billing, record keeping, medical devices, heavy equipment and sleep patterns. Software can often adjust computer clocks automatically, but this can be limited and error prone, particularly when DST protocols are changed.
To celebrate today make sure you move your clock s forward one hour and also make sure to check your smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors too. It needs to be done once a year.
If you can't see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Daylight Saving time is the practice of adjusting clocks by one hour to make it easier for the people in 1918 to tend their crops.

I hope you all remembered to forward your clocks last night before you went to bed so that you’ll be on time for whatever you want to do today. I did but, if it were up to me, we’d leave the clocks alone and stay the same time. The change is always hard for me to adjust too. But I also love having more daylight in the evenings.
When it gets dark out all I want to do is go to sleep. I had a wonderful time with my family last evening eating dinner out. We went to DD’s house afterward for birthday cake and ice cream. It’ makes me so happy to get together with my family. I’m thankful for the ones who could join me in the celebration.
For today, I’m just going to rest and relax and enjoy the wonderful memories. It’s warmer but I’m staying in and will just relax and refresh for the coming week ahead. Hopefully the part for my car will come and I can take it to be fixed at long last. I don’t have many other plans but the usual housework and grocery shopping. I love weeks when it’s the same old same old.
I hope you all have a RELAXING Sunday!!

Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters and EMT’s.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
Of all daylight saving plans, the best by far is an alarm clock.

Even though it is still cold and snowy here, I'm celebrating longer days of daylight !
I don't think the time change affects Tom and I as much as it does our dogs -- they'll be confused for a couple weeks before settling down. Oh, to be so compliant!
So glad you enjoyed a nice celebration last night. Yes, 'same old, same old' days are mighty comforting.
