ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
SATURDAY,MARCH 12TH, 2022
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is National Plant a Flower Day which celebrates the fact that Spring is fast approaching, so this is a great way to get ready. We all love Spring for its sunshine, greenery and new blossoms. Depending on where you live, planting flowers is a perfect way to welcome warmer weather and sunshine or to simply decorate your yard or house with some beautiful flowers.
Gardening has become a popular hobby amongst people of all ages. If you can, get outside and plant some flowers today. If not, you can still plan your flowers inside in a pot. Flower gardening is a sure way to brighten your day and bring some happiness .
Two very popular flowers for the month of March are daffodils and marigolds. Plant one of these flowers or another favorite to celebrate. This can be a fun activity for the whole family.
If you can't see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
The earth laughs in flowers.
Ralph Waldo Emerson
Sadly, we can’t plant anything outside here until around Memorial Day. We have a ;chance of hard frost until then. But if you planted bulbs in the fall, daffodils and tulips will soon be blooming. It’s amazing to see them appear in the early Sping.
I’m not planting anything new here today but I have plants out on the sunporch that I brought in the house last fall and will be checking on them today. I’ll water them and pinch off old leaves and maybe even add some new potting soil. I’m hoping they weathered over the winter and will come back to life with the warmer days ahead and more sunshine. The Sunporch gets a lot of sunshine as the leaves haven’t come out on the oak tree yet. And it really warms up. We’ll see how they did in the days ahead.
The pictures today are from past years when I used to plant bulbs out in the yard and had lots of flowers blooming this time of year. One year my middle sister and I planted over 200 bulbs.
Even though I’ll be going out to dinner tonight it is my day to cook for the weekend so that I can rest on Sunday and on the menu is:
Air Fryer Spicy Turkey Tenderloins
Makes 2 servings
1/2 tsp. chili powder
1/2 tsp. ground cumin
1/4 to 1/2 salt
1/8 tsp cayenne pepper
1 turkey breast tenderloin, 1/2 pound
3 Tbsp. chopped onion
2 Tbsp. chopped jalopena pepper
1 tsp olive oil
1 cup canned black beans, rinsed and drained
1/2 cup frozen corn, thawed
3 Tbsp. chopped fresh tomato
4 tsp picante sause
1 Tbsp. minced cilantro.
Lime wedges
Preheat air fryer to 350 degrees for 5 to 10 minutes. In a small bowl, combine chili powder, cumin, salt and cayenne. Sprinkle half the spice mixture over turkey. Place turkey on greased tray in air fryer. Cook until thermometer inserted into thickest part reads 165 degrees. 15 to 20 minutes. Let stand 10 minutes before slicing..
Meanwhile in a small skillet, saute onion and jalapdeño in oil until crisp tender. Transfer to a bowl. Add beans corn, tomato, picante sauce, cilantro and remaining spice mixture. Serve turkey with the salsa and sprinkle with lime juice.
I didn’t have picante sauce so I will substitute salsa instead. And I left out the jalapeño because I like my food on the mild side. I’ll be having this turkey dish with some corn bread and a side salad.
The kids are taking me out to eat at Red Lobster for dinner this evening, which is my favorite place to eat out. We’ve gone there for several years now. Not all of them will be there, but I know for sure that DD and her family, DS#5 and his family and DS#6 and his family will all be there ! I’m excited and very thankful!
I hope you all have a SUPER Saturday!!

enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters and EMT’s.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.

I can hardly wait to see flowers blooming again. Here we are all snow covered and cold.
I sorta like doing this with a recipe:
.......so I will substitute salsa instead. Many times I guess at a good substitute. LOL
We are not planting her in Florida either, but only because of the 'liquid sunshine' we are so famous for, at least for son Jack. He declares Florida we have more rain than sun. He thinks this is London-town.
Have a great day up that way hoping you have NO more freezes...
Sherry & jack down here in the rain, BUT DRY!
We're experiencing a nasty last gasp of Winter -- yet that didn't stop Pastor Janet and Andy from planting bulbs next door. I'm holding off with my sunflower seeds 'til Good Friday.
Yours sounds like a wonderful evening. I hope you'll enjoy every mouthful, washed down with lots of love and laughter.
Love to go to Lowes or Home Depot, and wandering through the nursery.
