THE BRIGHT SIDE

Decide to be happy today, to live with what is yours – your family, your business, your job, your luck. If you can’t have what you like, maybe you can like what you have.
Just for today, be kind, cheerful, agreeable, responsive, caring, and understanding. Be your best, dress your best, talk softly, and look for the bright side of things. Praise people for what they do and do not criticize them for what they cannot do. If someone does something stupid, forgive and forget. After all, it’s just for one day.
Who knows, it might turn out to be a nice day.

It's MONDAY!

NO BRAINER DAY

No Brainer Day - now this day is for me!
By definition, a No brainer is doing something that is simple, easy, obvious, and totally logical. Therefore, today is the day for you to do all those no brainer tasks and activities. If a project requires thinking, study, or analysis of any kind, then its not the chore to do today.
We should all quickly get the hang of the concept of the day.

We can all excel on No Brainer Day!

NEWS FROM HOME

After a very cold weekend we are to be blessed with some wonderful SUNSHINE today and warmer temps.  We've had an unending cycle so far this year that brings us a few days of cold and snow and then a few days of sunshine, followed by rain, cooler temps and then snow again.  Thankfully not much snow has fallen recently and melts off quickly.

We are supposed to be in the high 40's today so I'm hoping that it will be a good day to get out for a walk or even a few minutes just to sit in my rocker on the patio and soak up some sunshine.  No doubt I'll need a jacket when I go out, but it will feel great just to get outside and enjoy it all!

For those of you that have to go out to work today, enjoy the sunshine and the clear roads.  This winter has provided a lot of days that have brought us snow free days and we all can enjoy that fact.

Have a wonderful Monday!

PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS

Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their

Lord, hold our troops in

Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's

GOD BLESS YOU!

SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT

The beauty of giving something up for Lent is that it takes 21 days to develop a habit, so any changes you make for 40 days can

last a lifetime,

Each day, we have the opportunity to give. We can give a ride, a small gift, money, food, time, and more. We can give the gift of listening, being kind, or standing up for someone else. Gifts come in all shapes and sizes

Jesus preached about alms, which are charitable donations, gifts given to others. In this we are reminded today that when we give a gift - whether it be money, time, a listening ear, a voice, or food - it should be about the giving and not about the recognition that may go with it.

The more love you give away, the more love you will have

It's SUNDAY!

TELL A FAIRY TALE DAY

Once upon a time fairy tales were read to small children at bedtime but these days parents are often too busy, or too tired. What a loss for both parent and child!

Tell a Fairy Tale Day is a good start, an occasion to sit down and read the fairy folk stories which parents have read to children for a thousand generations.

Travel into the realm of fairy-story which is, as Tolkien tells us, filled with all manner of beasts and birds, shoreless seas and stars uncounted, and beauty that is an enchantment.

Lets celebrate and fall into a fantasy world where the wicked get their comeuppance and everyone else steps into a future filled with happily ever after!

If you see the magic in a fairy tale, you can face the future

NEWS FROM HOME

I don't watch much TV but this year I started watching the series Once Upon A Time on Sunday evenings at 8 o'clock  and I must say I am not one that is too old for fairy tales and have been enjoying it week after week.

It is said that fairy tales can come true, they can happen to you ...if you're young at heart.  I like to think that I am still young in my heart anyway.  I don't know what is wrong with my mirror.  I look in it and see someone growing older, but my inside self doesn't match this reflection.

I try to do what I want to do versus what I have to do.  Taking time to smell the roses is a priority as life goes by so much faster.

Weekends are for slowing and smelling roses
For leaning in and inhaling the fragrance
of the lush and really living

Sunday is the perfect opportunity to rest and relax.  If you are among the very young at heart you'll find you get a lot more joy out of life.  So relax and take time to do something you want to do and not what you have to do.

Some day you will be old enough to start reading fairy tales again.
C. S. Lewis

SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT

When are expecting a guest, we carefully prepare our home to ensure that our guest will be comfortable. We look forward to the enrichment we know will result from our visit.
During this Lenten season, we prepare for the renewal and rebirth of Easter. We search within ourselves for areas that need attention. Perhaps we need to ask or give forgiveness or acknowledge and release something that no longer serves our highest good.

Be prepared for the beauty, wonder and fulfillment that are coming.
Our guest this season is greater love, peace and joy.

May the rules and requirements of who is lovable be erased

God makes it simple, we are to love everyone

It's SATURDAY!

NATIONAL CHILI DAY

A day to recognize chili as an American staple and to celebrate our love for a great bowl of red, especially in the cold winter months.

How do you like your chili? Without beans like the Texans? Con carne, turkey or vegetarian? Any way you like it, dig in to that spicy bowl of heaven today, friends.

For chilly days we eat chili when we want warmth during the winter temperatures.  Beans or no beans about it,

Eat Chili on National Chili Day!

NEWS FROM HOME

Today is a very special day here at my house.  I'll be traveling to DS#6's house to celebrate our Little Lucky Guy's 2nd birthday!  It hardly seems possible that 2 years have gone by already.  It'll soon be 2 years since I've retired too!  I've got to say that these years have been really wonderful.

I've had more time to spend with my grand children than I ever had before. What a blessing!

We have a chance of snow today so I'll be praying the roads stay clear for all that will be traveling to and from the party.
Keep safe everyone!

It's FRIDAY!

BASKING DAY

A day to get outside and bask the warmth of the sunshine!  Even if you're not up to getting dressed and going outside, find a sunny spot in your house and sit down with your face toward the sunshine, close your eyes and enjoy the warmth.

It's human nature to want to stay warm and cozy when it is blustery cold outside.

May the sun shine, all day long,
everything go right, and nothing wrong.
May those you love bring love back to you,
and may all the wishes you wish come true!
Irish Blessing

NEWS FROM HOME

Basking in the sunshine is something I love to do.  Amazingly enough I've even had a few days this winter when it's been warm enough to get out on the patio and sit in my rocker and soak up some warm rays of sunshine.  I'm sure I could count those days on one hand, but they have happened and it was wonderful.

Some people are like a ray of sunshine in my life too and the other evening I was blessed by a phone call from my Sunshine Boy!  It's always wonderful to hear from him and his brother whom I call our little Ray of Sunshine.  Those two have brought a lot of sunshine into my days and continue to do so.  I just love their SMILES!

If I'm not mistaken the weather man says there be more snow for us later on today.  I'm  just going to sip on my JAMAICA ME CRAZY coffee and enjoy the view, brush off my shoulders and have a fabulous day because my life is absolutely amazing!

Take good care everyone!

Hope you all have some sunshine to bask in today!

SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT

There is a wonderful Peanuts cartoon where Linus comes to Lucy in a fit saying, You buried my blanket. You can't do that! I'll die without that blanket! I'll be like a fish out of water! I'll die! I'll die! Tell me where you buried it! Tell me!

In the next section snoopy goes out in the yard and does some dog digging. Soon snoopy comes running to Linus with his blanket. Linus says, My blanket! Oh, snoopy! You found it!! You found it! You found it! You found it! You found it

Then snoopy, dozing on his doghouse says, Every now and then I feel that my existence is justified.
Do we have such an attachment to our stuff, like Linus did with his blanket?
Fast from judging others, Feast on Christ dwelling in them.

Fast from apparent darkness; Feast on the reality of LIGHT.
Fast from thoughts of illness; Feast on the healing power of God.
Fast from words that pollute; Feast on phrases that purify.
Fast from complaining; Feast on appreciation.
Fast from negatives; Feast on affirmatives.
Fast from unrelenting pressures; Feast on unceasing prayer.

Fast from idle gossip; Feast on purposeful silence.
Fast from problems that overwhelm; Feast on prayer that undergirds.
