ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
FOR SUNDAY, JANUARY 31ST, 2021
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Good bye January!
Today is Inspire Your Heart with Art Day which encourages us to ponder how art affects our hearts. Art is valued and appreciated for all sorts of reasons .
On the broad spectrum of art created in the world, the peaces that move us to tears or cause us to burst out into joyous laughter remain with us for a lifetime. Whether we are touched by music, or see into an artists soul through their work, art has power to change us and inspire our hearts.
Since art comes in so many forms, the number of ways to celebrate are countless to celebrate today, explore the many genres of art and let it inspire you.
If you can’’t see the bright side, polhish the dull side

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
One ought, every day at least, to hear a little song, read a good poem, see a fine picture and if it were possible, to speak a few reasonable words.
JoHann Wolfgang von Goethe
I love to paint and have found some inspiration for my next project. I will be painting a Welcome Sign that has a basket of tulips on it for my family this year for Easter.
The kind of art I do is called, decorative painting and done by tracing a pattern from a picture and tracing that onto the surface I want to paint. I don’t heve my own original ideas but paint that of others. I even have some painting books that tell you what colors of paint to use and which brush to use when painting. You do one step and then proceed to the next. I did take painting classes to learn how to do this and was pleasantly surprised to find out I too could be an artist.
I do have two sons that are artists in their own right.
DS#5 is an Art teacher at our high school and he does caricatures as a side business. He’s very good at many types of art and has done many paintings. DS#6 is a graphic artist and does artwork for all kinds of books, he even has published one of his own called, Cut, Color and Create. It features art work for kids to create their own paper toys.
I’m proud of them both. They went to college to earn their degrees in art and worked hard to pretty much put themselves through school.
Today is my day of rest here and we have some light accumulation of snow on the ground today, hopefully no more will come our way. At any rate I’m staying in and keeping warm I have leftover meatloaf dinner to heat up and so I don’t even have to cook.
I’ll spend a while this morning watching church services on line and then this afternoon I’ll be tracing out the pattern I’ve picked for my art.project. It takes awhile but then I can reward my self by reading another good book.
The pictures today are of things I’ve painted over the years. I give them as gofts to my family. The picture above is what I hope to complete for Easter.
I hope you all have af RELAXING Sunday !
COUNTING MY GIFTS
the artist is nothing without the gift, but this gift is nothing without work.
Emile Zola
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
8072. for art that inspires the heart
8873. for DS#5 and 6 who are artists
8874. for leftovers to heat up
.
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
