ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
FOR TUESDAY, JANUARY 19TH, 2021
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is National Popcorn Day which honors the 16 billion quarts of popcorn made each year. This equates for about 51 quarts per person, which makes it one of the most populars snacks in the country.
Popcorn has been around for centuries and is one of the oldest snacks in the country. It is one of six main varieties of corn. The other are pod, sweet flour, dent and flint. Popcorn originated in Mexico, but eventually made its way to the US;, in 1948. Archiologist in the state of New Mexico discovered ancient popcorn ears that were at least 5,000 years old. The Native Americans in both South and North America popped their corn throwing it on hot stones over the fire.
Today popcorn is a common household snack that is enjoyed by many. To Celebrate today, make your favorite kind of popcorn and enjoy it while watching a movie.
If you can’t see the bright side, polish the dull side
Popcorn is one of the situations in which you eat the result of an explosion.

Popcorn and movies always do seem to go together. I love popcorn and have its often. My favorite kind to buy is a tub of popcorn kernels from the Boy Scouts popcorn sale. It pops up perfect every time. I presently have 2 tubs in the cupboard, an extra on hand so I don’t run out. One of my son and his son are members of the Boy Scouts and I get it from them.
I always prefer homemade in a pan on the stove to any I’ve found microwaveable, although they do sell that too. I put 1 tablespoon of oil in a pan on the stove and heat it up then pour a half cup of popcorn in and cover it and gently shake over the heat till it stops popping. This makes the perfect amount for the size of my pan. I simple melt some butter to pour on it. I don’t add any extra salt theses days as salt is not good for me.
It’s one of the healthiest snacks around and is good even without any butter. Hope you can enjoy some today.
Today I’m making an effort to get done, with putting Christmas away. It’s the day I set to be done and hopefully I’ll succeed. Tomorrow is DS#6’s and our Princess’s birthday and I have a picture of the two of them that is always a part of my decorations for Valentines Day. Tomorrow I’ll be showing it to you.
There isn’t much of anything else going on around here, but this, so no news for now. I’m just staying in and keeping safe and trying to get things done inside, while winter days continue on the outside. We had a little snow yesterday and that is what the pictures are of today. It wasn’t a whole lot but enough to cover every thing
I hope you all have a TERRIFIC Tuesday

Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
Of course life is bizarre, the more bizarre it gets, the more interesting it is. The only way to approach it is to make yourself some popcorn and enjoy the show.

It's a good day to enjoy a movie and a bowl of popcorn.
Good luck getting everything finished up today Ma. Stay warm!
I used to like supporting the Scouts' popcorn sales, too. There's never a bad time to enjoy a bag of freshly-popped corn. Have you ever tried sprinkling it with garlic salt? Yum!
