ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
FOR THURSDAY, JANUARY 21ST, 2021
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a special occasion!

Today is National Hug Day which is officially recognized by the US Copyright Office, but not a public holiday.
The purpose of the day to help every one show more emotion in public. The only way to celebrate is by offering a hug to anyone and every one you want.
Whether you hug a family member or a stranger, the mental and physical health benefits are the same. From the day we are born, hugs or touch improve our sleep. Hugging like cuddling releases oxycotcin. On its own this hormone provides tremendous health benefits. Not only does it give us a feel good hormones, but it reduces pain. Receiving a hug helps to reduce stress, lowers blood pressure and lowers the risk of heart disease, it also eases anxiety.
Give someone a big hug. Or if you need one ask for a hug and reap the benefits. You can also give a mental hug. Let someone know you care by sending warm and cheerful words of encouragement. Boost their joy by letting the know how much they mean to you with a verbal hug, until you can give them a real one.
If you can’’t see the bright side, polish the dull side
There is something in a simple hug that always warms the heart It welcomes us back home and makes it easier to part.
Johnny Ray Ryder, Jr.
I love to give and get hugs, but since I live alone, I don’t get many until someone in my family comes for a visit. I do appreciate you all and so I’m sending a verbal hug to all of you today ((((HUGS)))This will have to do until I can do it in person.
In this day and in the present cisrcumstances hugs aren’t really encouraged but truly they are needed now more than ever. We all are supposed to stay a safe distance away from others. If you are lucky enough to be living in a household with other people. Maybe you could share a hug with them for me today.Let them know ‘ma’ is sending a hug their way.
The snow has stopped and the roads are much clearer today so I’m taking the day to get my shopping done. Gotta to make hay while the sun is shinning.
The pictures shared today are of hugs shared by some in my family.
I hope you all have a GREAT day. Happy Thursday (((HUGS)))
COUNTING MY GIFTS
A hug is a wonderful thing. It’s a marvelous gift to share. It’s a grand way to say, I care. A hug communicates support, security, affection, unit belonging. A hug shows compassion. A hug charms the senses. A hug touches the soul.
Bob Stoess
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
8042. for hugs I give and those I receive
.8843. for people in my life that are important
8844. for a better day than yesterday
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
If you’re angry at a loved one, hug that person. And mean it. You may not want to hug, which is all the more reason to do so. It’s hard to stay angry when someone shows that they love you, and that’s precisely what happens when we hug each other
Walter Anderson
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
Love,
ma

I love this sweet post and the precious photos. Sending hugs right back to you today :)
I sure miss my church friends' sweet hugs. These are great pictures. Especially the expressions on your little granddaughter's faces cracked me up.
Here's a big old cyber hug from ME to YOU!
I am so sorry you are low on the hugs count lately! Sending you one now!
I am. indeed, grateful to live with Louis Dean and get to hug several times in a 24 hour period. I'm not really all that touchy feely kind of gal - but maybe I am more so than I thought. I have been hugging my loved ones with my head facing out from their shoulder and their's facing away from mine. Who knew hugging would be a calculated risk???
There is nothing like a good hug! and the pictures are so sweet, especially the last one. ((hugs))
