ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
FOR SATURDAY, JANUARY 2ND, 2021
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is Run it up the Flagpole and See if Anyone Salutes Day which is a fun holiday that goes back to a vintage English idiom. It means to float an idea see what people think, or if they notice. The term is commonly used in advertising and print medea. A modern variation of this catchphrase would be send up a trial balloon.
Since January is the month of new beginnings it is only fitting that January 2nd is Run It Up The Flagpole and See If anyone Salutes It Day.
Use this day to allow people to test a new idea. Be creative today and don’t limit it to business applications. The unknown inventor of this day motivates people to test their fancies so that they can get started with it. now that the new year has begun. Anyway this expression is a bit outdated and therefore rather funny than serious.
If you can’t see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
No matter what people tell you, words and ideas can change the world.
Robin Williams
I don’t happen to have any new ideas to share today, I’ve been in a slump and new inspiration hasn't come my way lately, but maybe it’s time that changed. If you happen to have any new suggestions for me, I’d be happy to try them out. Sharing our ideas helps us all. What one might not think of another person can.
This is my day to cook for the weekend, but I really don’t need to do that. I have plenty of pork roast and sauerkraut leftover, so I don’t even have a new recipe to share today. Just finishing off the leftovers.
I did get a new air fryer, combo toaster oven and microwave for Christmas from my children, but haven’t got it here at my house yer, Today DD and her hubby will have time to bring it over and set it up for me. It’s going to mean some extra counter space for me since I’ll no longer need my toaster oven. If anyone needs one, I’ll give it away gladly. I really don’t have the space to store it. Just let me know when you’d like to pick it up.
I’m sure I’ll be looking for new recipes now that include using an air fryer. It’s supposed to make for healthier eating.
Today’s pictures are of the different flagpoles I have on my computer .I seem to have many.
I hope you all have SUPER Saturday !

Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.

GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
If you have an apple and I have an apple and we exchange those apples, then You and I will each have one apple, But if you have an idea and I have an idea and we exchange these ideas, then each of us will have two ideas.
George Bernard Shaw
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…

Everything begins with a new idea.
That new air fryer, toaster oven and microwave combo sounds great! I haven't got myself an air fryer just because I have so little counter space in my kitchen. Something like that just might work for me too. I'll have take a look and see if I can find one that isn't too expensive. Let me know how you like yours when you have a chance to try it out.
I have an air fryer and have only used it once. I think its because we don't have a lot of counter space left in the kitchen and while I have it stored in the pantry, I forget its there when planning menus. Yours seems like a wonderful gift from your children! I did hear it is good for healthier eating, less oil, thus less calories. Enjoy it!

Now I'm wishing we'd have waited and got one of those combo appliances. What will they think of next?! Tom loves it for making chicken wings and pizza. However, I'm not using it as much as I thought, so I've no recipes to share. That's something I really need to research online.
Hope the new appliance will bring inspiration with new recipes and all. They are easy to find online. I am like you....out of ideas, maybe it comes with age. I have done lots of crafts and things but eventually that gets old. Even crafting for charity has weaned. I have a air fryer but don't use it much, however, one of the things I tried was mac and cheese and it was AWESOME. I cooked the macaroni first and then put it in the air fryer, some say to put it all in and then cook. I tried wings once but they were so small it wasn't worth the effort.
