ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
FOR SUNDAY, JANUARY 24TH, 2021
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a special occasion!

Today is National Peanut Butter day which celebrates this very popular household food. The average person consumes more than six pounds of peanut products each year.
Peanut butter was invented by George Boyle, a St.Louis snack food maker, during the 1890’s. For many years, peanut better manufacturers struggled with the oil separating from the grainy solids of the peanut butter. In 1923 Heinz became the first company to homogenize the peanuts into the spreadable butter we know and love today. After perfecting the recipe, peanut butter soon became a classic American food.
It takes 650 peanuts to make a 12 ounce jar of peanut butter. Peanuts are cholesterol free and an excellent source of protein. In fact, it’s the high protein content that causes peanut butter to stick to the roof of your mouth.
To celebrate today, bake some peanut butter cookies or spread some tasty peanut butter on toast, or enjoy a spoonful right out of the jar!
If you can’’t see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Man cannot live by bread alone….he must have peanut butter.
James Garfield
I always have some peanut butter on hand here. I enjoy it on toast in the morning, on crackers for a snack, or in a sandwich with some jelly. I even have some peanut butter cookies to enjoy too, so will definitely be celebrating this day.
Although there are many things you can make with peanut butter, I don’t have any new recipes to share. It’s my day of rest so I won’t be baking. I have my leftover orange chicken drumsticks to enjoy from yesterday.
I’ll be staying home, warm and cozy today. No need to go out, so I’’m staying in. Hopefully I’ll be watching the online streaming of our church services, and probably enjoy a pajama day reading another good book, if I can find o mew one. I started one yesterday called 1984 and really couldn’t get into it. It was a strange one for sure. So we’ll see what I can find today.
I’m trying to do something new here every day and my new thing for today is to find a new book to read. Life can get boring if we keep on doing the same old thing. It’s a good thing I like to do many different things. I like mysteries, romance and historical books so there is a lot to choose from.
It’s very cold here today with a high of only 31 degrees and wind chills in the teens. So it’s a good day to cozy up and stay in.
I hope you all have a RELAXING Sunday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Love and happiness remind me of sticky peanut butter. When you spread them around, you can’t help but end up getting some on yourself.

may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety

they may ever praise you for your loving care.

and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.

ADVICE FOR TODAY
You can spread jelly on the peanut butter, but you can’t spread peanut butter on the jelly.
Dick Van Dyke

A bit of love from someone dear…

Stay warm and stay safe everyone !
I hope you find a good one to read. A PJ day sounds perfect in that kind of weather :)
Peanut butter is one of my most favorite things in the world. I ALMOST bought a little jar yesterday, and now I'm regretting not having done so. If that '1984' book is the one I'm thinking of, it used to be required reading while in school. Wasn't impressed and remember thinking 1984 sounded SO very far away. Ha!
