ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
FOR SATURDAY, JANUARY 30TH, 2021
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is National Croissant Day which celebrates the warm and delicious croissant . It’s a day to enjoy it with a generous helping of butter.
The history of the croissant is a colorful take full of adventure. In 1683, the Turkish Empire laid siege on Vienna, Austria. The Turkey made several atoms to enter the city by force, but were unsuccessful, so decided to did an underground tunnel. The bakers of Vienna, who worked in the basement storerooms heard the sound of digging and alerted the army.
The bakers received high honors and thanks for their for their assistance in outwitting the Turks. In celebratio, they baked their bread in the shape of a crescent moon — the symbol of the Ottoman Empire. After the Turkey were defeated, it became custom to serve morning coffee with the crescent shaped pastry.
The legend goes on to say that over a hundred years later, Marie Antonette, an Autrian Pricess who married Louis the XVI introduced the pastry to the French who dubbed it a croissant.
Make sure to enjoy one today in honor of the day.
If you can’’t see the bright side, polhish the dull side

I do love croissants they are one of my favorite things to have for breakfast. i fix them like a bacon, egg and cheese sandwich. I also use them when making a chicken salad sandwich or a warm ham and cheese sandwich in the oven. Sorry I don’t have any pictures of them to share today, but I do have some to enjoy.
The good news today is that I was able to get my first dose of the Covoid vaccine yesterday. At the urging of a friend, I called a pharmacy at the grocery store to see if I could make an appointment with them, the pharmacist said they just had a cancellation at 4:30 so could I come then. I went and now have an appointment to go back for the 2nd dose in February. They were very pleasant and efficient there and it only took a few minutes. I feel fine so I guess I don’t have any side effects from it at all.
Today is my day to cook dinner for the weekend and no croissants are involved. My dinner menu says it’s time to make

We’ve had some of the coldest weather we’ve had all winter this week, temps of a high of 19 degrees and in the single digits with the windchill, but they say we could reach 33 degrees today and tomorrow we could get more snow. Take care and keep warm everyone ! It’s a good day to stay home and turn the oven on instead.
I’m trying to think Spring today so that is why I’ve put in all the pictures of it. Sadly we still have a long way to go.
I hope you all have af SUPER Saturday !
COUNTING MY GIFTS
There are only four great arts: music, painting, sculpture and ornamental pastry . Architecture being perhaps the least banal derivative of the later.

MeatloAF Is good comfort food !
Too cute about all comfort food beginning with "P"!
Congratulations on getting your first vaccine ... that was sure a stroke of good luck! I'm still crossing my fingers (that) Alabama will still have inventory when my group becomes eligible. In a way, this all reminds me of lining up at kindergarten to get our sugar cube in the wee paper cup. My son was incredulous when I told him that's how they used to administer the polio vaccine.
I am so glad to hear you were able to get started on the vaccine! What a relief it will be not to have to worry quite as much. Your dinner sounds delicious. That's some icy cold you're having there, stay nice and warm!
Learning the history of the croissant was interesting. They are a bit too rich for me. So happy you got the vaccine and have had no problems. My hubby got his but I don't qualify just yet.
