ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
TUESDAY, AUGUST 10TH, 2021
The moments our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is National S’mores Day which celebrates a delicious treat meade from three simple ingredients - graham crackers, toasted marshmallows, and melted chocolate bars. Yum! The first official s’mores recipe was published in the Girl Scout Handbook in 1927, but culinary historians believe the tradition began much earlier. Over the years, the recipe was passed from camper to camper and eventually became the most famous fireside dessert. It’s called a s’more because you will always want some more of this decadent sweet.
To celebrate today make a backyard campfire and have s’mores. No bonfire is necessary, you can toast marshmallows in the toaster oven or microwave. Happy National S’mores Day!
If you can't see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
I love the summer s’more and s’more.

Over the years I’ve made plenty of S’mores to enjoy, especially when we used to go camping, but these days, more than not, I make my s’mores in the oven. I just put a graham cracker topped with some chocolate and a marshmallow in the oven until the chocolate is melted and top with another graham cracker. I’ve got everything I need to make them on hand, so I’ll be sure to have one for dessert today.
I went to my doctor appointment yesterday and was told I have Stage 3 kidney disease. The doctor wants me to have a sonogram of my kidney’s and another blood test before he discusses how this is going to be treated. Meanwhile he assured me that this is not something I’ll die from or lose a kidney from or have to be on dialysis for. That made me feel much better, I have an appointment on the 24tth of August for the sonogram and will meet with the doctor after that.Meanwhile I’m to continue drinking at least 50 oz. of water a day. I usually do this anyway so that’s no problem.
Today I have another doctor appointment with my primary care doctor, they call it a Medicare Well visit. They said it will be mostly questions so we’ll see how this one goes.
I think I’ve had quite enough of doctors for awhile.
I hope you all have a TERRiFIC Tuesday!

may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.

Celebrate today with a sweet treat for dessert !
Yum, those look good!
So glad your doctor seems to have a calm, reassuring manner. I, too, have had to sit for those Medicare 'wellness' Q-and-A visits. Seems like a waste of time, but I sure don't want to alienate my doctor!
