ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
FOR SATURDAY, APRIL 24TH, 2021
The moments our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a special occasion!

Today is National Pigs in a Blanket Day which honors the delicious finger food that is popular with kids and cocktail party guests across the world. In fact their are many different cultures that have their own unique twist on this comfort food classic.
In the United Kingdome, pigs in a blanket are small sausages wrapped in bacon. People traditionally serve the as Christmas dinner appetizers. In Israel, kids enjoy Mose Ba Teiva, Moses in the Ark, which are miniature hot dogs rolled in a ketchup covered puff pastry and baked in the oven. In the United States, pigs in a blanket are hot dogs or Vienna sausages wrapped in biscuit or croissant dough and baked until golden brown. Yum!
No matter where you are or how you decide to cook your pigs in a blanket, make this tasty finger food for dinner today and serve with a side of ketchup. Happy National Pigs In a Blanket Day!
If you can't see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
The pig is a hot dog that is swaddled in a blanket, which can be soft white bread or commercial refrigerated, crescent roll triangles. The latter is easier and gives the dish that special aftertaste common in packaged quick rising dough products. Simply wrap a triangle of dough around the center of a frankfurter and bake in the oven.

Pigs in a Blanket are considered a party food in my family. The kids do love them and so do I. The pictures today are of some I made using biscuit dough wrapped around a hot dog.
Usually I’d be cooking for the weekend, but today is a party celebrating our Sweet Suger AB’s first communion so I’ll be eating there instead of at home. Hopefully I’ll also bring some leftovers home for tomorrow too.
I don’t know if we’ll be having any Pigs in a Blanket or not, but there is sure to be plenty of good food. I made a cake for the occasion and will be taking that to share.
I hope you have a SUPER Saturday

Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.

Sorry I'm running late this morning and hope you all enjoy your day !
Enjoy the celebration with your family today!
We used to love pigs in a blanket every Friday night.
Until I started resembling a piggy, that is. (lol) No, when we got Macie and Grace Tom began feeding them 'table food' and soon it became too much of a hassle shoo-ing them away. Our fault.
Hope your celebration of Sweet AB's first communion is wonderful!
