ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
FOR SATURDAY, APRIL 10TH, 2021
The moments our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is National Siblings Day, which is great opportunity to celebrate all of your siblings and the other people in our lives who have acted as siblings over the year. Tell your siblings how much you care about them.
Siblings have been recognized for thousands of years in other nations. In the United States , National Sibling Day became an official holiday in 2008, from the efforts of the National Sibling Day organization. Claudia Evert, founder of the foundation created the holiday after both of her siblings passed away early in life. Today the foundation hopes to grow the day as large as Mother;s Day and Father’s Day, as all of these people are very important in our lives.
A sibling's relationship is often one of the longest relationships in a person’s life. Tell your sibling how much they mean to you today and show how much you appreciate them.
If you can't see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
To the outsides world, we all grow old. But not to brothers or sisters. We know each other as we always were. We know each other’s hearts. We share family jokes. We remember family feuds and secrets, family griefs and joys. We live outside the touch of time.

The pictures today are of the only sibling I still have. My youngest sister is definitely loved and appreciated. There have been many times that I wouldn’t have know what to do without her. Of course, since I’m the older I’ve known her all of her life and we are connected by all the events we’ve shared since her birth.
There used to be 3 of us sisters, but one passed away several years ago now and she is very missed. She used to live right next door to me and I saw her every day. My youngest sister is now in the process of downsizing and getting ready to move. She helped me a lot when I had to do so, but she won’t let me help her. She says she doesn’t want me to tire myself out helping her, so she’s told me to stay home. I guess she knows me very well as she realizes I have all I can do to take care of myself most days. Still there is nothing I wouldn’t do for her if I could.
Today I’m cooking for the weekend and hope to make enough to share with her too. On the menu today is:
Grilled Buttermilk Chicken
Makes 12 servings
1 1/2 cups buttermilk
4 fresh thyme sprigs
4 garlic cloves, minced
1/2 tsp salt
`12 boneless skinless chicken breast halves
Place the buttermilk, thyme, garlic and salt in a large bowl or shallow dish. Add chicken and turn to coat. Refrigerate 8 hours or overnight, turning occasionally.
Drain chicken, discard marinade. Grill covered, over medium heat until a thermometer reads 165 degrees.
I’ll be having this with some corn on the cob and a tossed salad along with some good crusty bread.
I hope you all have a SUPER Saturday!!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Sibling relationships outlast marriages, survive the death of parents, resurface after quarrels that would sink any friendship.s They flourish in a thousand incarnations of closeness and distance, warmth, loyalty and distrust.

our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

Treasure your brothers and sisters . They are God's gifts stso you as you are to them.
Your dinner sounds delicious and so nice that you are making some to share with your sister on siblings day! :)
I was never blessed with a sibling, but do have a friend who feels like a sister. Your relationship is certainly enviable! Sadly, I know of a few people who don't even speak to their brother or sister.
