ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is Johnny Appleseed Day which honors one of America's great legends. Johnny Appleseed, born on September 26th, 1774, was a real person. John Chapman was among the American settlers who were captivated by the movement west across the continent. As Johnny Appleseed travelled west, he planted apple trees along the way, and sold trees to settlers. With every apple tree that was planted, the legend grew.
He was known and lauded for his kind, generous ways, and the importance he placed on the apples. He travelled throughout Pennsylvania, Ontario, Ohio, Indiana, and Illinois, and the lands that would become West Virginia planting nurseries and spread kindness everywhere he went.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Everybody's twelve years old in an apple orchard.
Rachael Ray
We do have lots of apple orchards close by and while its fun to pick your own, I usually just buy the ones they have already bagged. It is apple picking season for sure. I’ve already got some will be going back again before the season is over. The pictures today are from a couple of years ago when DS#6 and his family went apple picking.
They say that eating apples is good for your heart, your brain and your teeth. They are full of good things for our health. Apples are a good source of vitamin C and can supply you with vitamin B6 and potassium. They can help decrease blood pressure and even improve your breathing. Best of all they are delicious!
You can even make a simmering potpourri in your slow cooker by filling it with apple slices covered in water. Top with bay leaves, whole cloves and cinnamon sticks. Leave the slow cooker on low. It makes the house smell wonderful.
I hope you all have a TERRIFIC Tuesday!

What sweet little apple pickers you have showns us Pam! You have such a lovely family! I remember the Johnny Appleseed story from when I was a child. I think Disney had a cartoon about him. It stuck with me. We love apples, not so much raw, but cooked nowadays. Our old gnashers can't cope. Your pancakes look fabulous. Have a brilliant Tuesday. Thank you so much for your positivity and all that you share. It is a real light in the darkness that seems to surround us on all sides these days! xoxo
I can almost smell the aroma of fresh apples!
Those babies' smiles sure brighten my computer monitor! :)
