ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is Swap Ideas Day which encourages us to share and trade ideas and concepts. Sharing is good. Ideas are a good thing, too. Putting the two together should produce a real winner of a day!
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
If you have an apple and I have an apple and we exchange these apples then you and I will still each have one apple. But if you have an idea and I have an idea and we exchange these ideas, then each of us will have two ideas.
George Bernard Shaw
Over the years I’ve gotten a lot of good ideas from others. I’ve never been much of an original thinker and most of what I know I’ve learned from others. I continue to learn something new every day too. I’m very thankful for ideas that not only educate me but inspire me to be a better person.
These days I find a lot of good ideas on Pinterest. It’s amazing how much information they have to offer. Ideas are shared on just about any subject imaginable.
Today is Sunday and I’ll be finding my inspiration at church today. It’s also my day to rest and relax in order to be prepared for another busy week ahead. It’s a good idea for everyone to have a day to be renewed and refreshed. We all need some time out from the busyness of life.
Today is also Grandparents Day and I’m sending out wishes to all grandparents for a very happy day. I’m thankful that I’m a grand’ma’. My grandchildren are so very special and I love them all very much.
Yesterday I did manage to get some baking done and a pot of chili made and that is what is in the pictures below. I have cornbread to go with the chili and applesauce cake for dessert.
I hope you all have a RELAXING Sunday!
WHAT’S NEW IN THE KITCHEN
There is a food holiday to celebrate every day of the year!
It’s TV Dinner Day
A half baked idea is okay as long as it's in the oven.

TV dinners used to be quick ready made meals that were popped in the microwave or the oven before everyone gathered around the tube to watch some prime time television.
One of my favorites was Salisbury Steak and so that is what today’s recipe is for. It’s easy to make your own and it can be frozen and ready to heat up when every you need a TV Dinner.
Salisbury Steak Dinner
1/3 cup grated onion, divided
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 pound ground sirloin
Cooking spray
tablespoon butter
8 ounces mushrooms, quartered
1 1/4 cups beef broth
1 tablespoon flour
Combine 1/4 cup onion, pepper, salt, garlic, and beef. Shape into 4 patties. Heat a skillet over medium high heat. Coat with cooking spray. Add patties; cook 3 minutes on each side or until browned.
Melt butter in pan. Add mushrooms; sauté 4 minutes. Stir in onion; cook 2 minutes. Combine broth and flour; add to pan, and bring to a boil. Cook 5 minutes or until thick. Add patties to pan; cook 2 minutes.
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Ideas can be life changing. Sometimes all you need to open the door is just one more good idea.
Jim Rohn
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
5242. for Sunday, a day to relax
5243. for ideas that inspire
5244. for grandchildren to love
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
When you write down your ideas you automatically focus your full attention on them. Few if any of us can write one thought and think another at the same time. Thus a pencil and paper make excellent concentration tools.

A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…

I remember eating TV dinners with my mother when they first came out in the 60's! :) Salisbury was great, indeed.
I've loving on that bowl holding your chili, Ma! Warm, comforting colors.
Wishing you a beautiful day!
That chili sure would be delicious! Sundays are a great day to relax, enjoy yours!

Back in late August of 2012, Louis Dean and I arrived in Katy, Texas with our 31 foot camper pulled by his big white truck and I was in my little Ford Fusion. We lived in that camper for 7 months and were there to help my daughter care for her tiny preemie quadruplets. The second night there we ate TV dinners. They tasted just like cardboard. We learned the Mexican TV dinners were a little better so that's what we had for those long days when we didn't get back to the camper until really late and only had time to eat and fall into bed before we were up and out the door for that 6:00 feeding. Your post brought back old memories.....
Wishing you a good week!!! Love your blog!
