ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is National Live Creative Day which is a day to let the world see your creativity. To Live Creative allows for the exploration of imagination. Celebrate National Live Creative Day by taking the time to invent, discover and dream. Infusing creativity in our lives through a variety a media from painting and graphic art to music and gardening all have an impact on our lives. By expressing our passions and living creative lives, we experience the world.
We don’t have to be a master sculptor to Live Creative. Blending a dash of creative into moments of our everyday life can have a power effect. Simply being exposed to the arts inspires ideas at home and in the workplace. Renewing a hobby reduces stress just by being purely enjoyable. Teaching someone else the craft nurtures personal expression and offers an opportunity to see the world through another’s eye
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
The creative process takes its own course. If it did otherwise, it would not be creative.
F. W. Martin
I usually show my creativeness by cooking, baking and in decorating my house. I do love to paint and use this talent to make gifts for my family. It’s a wonderful feeling to create something that you can share with others. Left on my own, life would be sort of blah, but because of my family, life is full of beauty everywhere!
Yesterday was an adventure of a different sort for me. One of my friends has a membership at the Y and took me along as a guest for a swim and a good soak in a hot tub too. The water in the pool was luke warm and felt wonderful. The hot tub was hot and very relaxing. I can only say that swimming is very good exercise and that I am very out of shape. It’s been several years since I’ve been swimming and the old saying that if you don’t use it, you lose it…is so very true. The good news is that I still have a bathing suit that fits.
Today I’ll be going for a hair cut and then going for groceries. It’s to be in the lower 70’s here which is what I call perfect weather.
I hope you all have a GREAT day. Happy Thursday!
WHAT’S NEW IN THE KITCHEN
There is a food holiday to celebrate every day of the year!
National Cream Filled Donut Day is held annually on September 14th to recognize one of our favorite foods. Whether you enjoy a vanilla filled, chocolate filled or many of the other varieties, cream filled donuts offer many ways to satisfy your sweet tooth.
Cooking is just as creative and imaginative an activity as drawing, or wood carving, or music. And cooking draws upon your every talent--science, mathematics, energy, history, experience--and the more experience you have, the less likely are your experiments to end in drivel and disaster. The more you know, the more you can create.

Instead of my daily donut or two, I’m enjoying Banana Bread coffee cake this week for breakfast. I do love donuts but since I had ripe bananas that needed using up I make coffee cake instead.
Impossibly Easy Banana Bread Coffee Cake
3 large ripe bananas, mashed
2/3 cup sugar
1/4 cup milk
3 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 teaspoon cinnamon
3 eggs
1 2/3 cups Bisquick mix
3/4 cup chopped walnuts or pecans, optional
For Streusel Topping
1 cup Bisquick mix
1/2 cup walnuts or pecans, optional
1/2 cup brown sugar
6 tablespoons butter
Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour bottom and sides of a 13 by 9 inch baking pan .
In a large bowl stir mashed bananas, sugar, milk, oil, cinnamon and eggs. Stir in 2 2/3 cup baking mix and nuts. Pour mixture into a pan.
In a medium bowl, mix Strudel ingredients, cutting in butter with a fork till crumbly. Sprinkle over top mixture in pan.
Bake 30 to 35 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clear. You can also drizzle with maple syrup before serving, if desired.
COUNTING MY GIFTS
You can't use up creativity. The more you use, the more you have.

Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
5254. for the beauty all around me
5255. for donuts, a tasty treat for sure
5256. for people to create things for
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their

Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU!

How fun with your time at the Y. Always good to get some exercise in!

Another wonderful visit with you this morning! We finished up the last of the pumpkin muffins this morning!
I've been doing Tai Chi in the mornings - I use a you tube video by Jake Mace. It's exercise that feels good for me! I never learned to swim and I panic if I get water in my ears! But a hot tub? I love those!
The good news, I still have a bathing suit that fits...ha ha! You are so funny!
That warm water in the pool, and then the hot water in the hot tub, just made me relax just reading about it. Thank you!
Ooooh, I wish I hadn't read those sentences about creme-filled donuts. (LOL)
Sadly, I've not a bit of creativity in my bones. Still - thankfully! - I can follow directions and look forward to turning on the oven once our temps cool.
