ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a Special Occasion!

Today is the National Day of Encouragement which has been celebrated since 2007. It is a day meant to remind us that encouragement matters. The day following Sept. 11, a day full of hurt, confusion and hopelessness, September 12th seems an appropriate time to acknowledge the importance of coming together and encouraging others. Encouragement matters.
Fast forward several years, and the official Senate resolution was passed, declaring Sept. 12 the National Day of Encouragement. That alone is testament to the power of encouragement
National Day of Encouragement is a day dedicated to uplifting those around us and making a positive impact, no matter the magnitude. It’s that simple.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
When life gives you a hundred reasons to cry, show life that you have a thousand reasons to smile.
Author Unknown
I am thankful for all the encouragers in my life. Friends and family that are always there with I need a lift in difficult times. They are always there when I need them and hope in some way I will be there when they need me too.
Encouragers are like cheerleaders that cheer you on to do better. I remember when DD was a cheerleader in high school and put her heart and soul in cheering on the team. We all need a cheerleader in our lives now and then and if you need encouragement I’ll be glad to cheer you on.
Encouraging words help. Yay Team ! We could learn something from the way team athletes freely pat, touch and high five each other in competition. Touch along with words, is a powerful encouragement. So I’m sending out some (((HUGS))) for you all today !
There have been a lot of acorns falling from the trees all around my house and they remind me that from little acorns great trees grow. A little thought of kindness planted in someone’s day can encourage them to stand tall like the mighty oak. No doubt my friendly neighborhood squirrels are putting their stash of them away for the winter. I too am stashing up memories on the beautiful days we’re having so far this week to treasure in my heart when winter comes!
The pictures below are of two more of my grandchildren going off for their first day of school! In their case it’s Preschool!
I hope you all have a TERRIFIC Tuesday!
Keep loving. Keep trying. Keep trusting. Keep believing. Keep growing. Heaven is cheering you on today, tomorrow, and forever.
PRAYER REQUESTS
DS#5 has asked for prayers for his MIL today as she is to have surgery due to complications of diverticulitis. May the dear Lord bless her with a successful surgery and speedy recovery.
Also please continue to pray for all those suffering from the effects of the hurricanes too. Your prayers are always appreciated. Thank you .
WHAT’S NEW IN THE KITCHEN
There is a food holiday to celebrate every day of the year!
It's National Chocolate Milkshake Day! Smooth, frothy, rich, and sweet are just a few of the words that describe today's reason to celebrate. The first reference to a milkshake appeared in a British newspaper in 1885. Milkshakes were popular at soda fountain counters in the early 1900s and are now a mainstay at ice cream shops, diners, and fast food restaurants throughout the country.
To celebrate National Chocolate Milkshake Day, enjoy a delicious milkshake for dessert tonight! To make your own at home, combine 2 cups of chocolate ice cream, 2 bars of diced dark chocolate candy, and 1/2 cup whipped cream in a blender. Garnish with more cream and chocolate shavings. Enjoy!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
The world is round and the place which may seem like the end may also be only the beginning.

Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
When you get into a tight place and everything goes against you, till it seems as though you could not hang on a minute longer, never give up then, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn.
Harriet Beecher Stowe
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…

How cute going to preschool. The fun they will have! So true how we all need encouragers in our lives and we too need to encourage others.

Those girls are adorable, Ma!
My DH reminded me on the phone, today's Chocolate Milkshake Day. ... and I reminded him, HE has a blender! In the midst of trouble all around, there's comfort to be found in chocolate ice cream. :)
