ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
FOR SUNDAY, MARCH 21ST, 2021
The moments our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is WORLD Forestry Day which is an environmental holiday. The value of forests and forestry is celebrated. It’s a worldwide celebration that anyone can take part in.
The concept of World Foresstry Day originated in 1971 and was declared an annual event by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization. Forests are critical for all life on the Earth, as they provide shelter, shade, refuge, and clean air and water. The world’s forests are at constant risk from increased deforestation as demand for forest products increases.
Take the time today to educate yourself on the importance of the world’s forests. Plant a tree, chose online communications and cards over paper, or raise awareness to others. Every little bit helps.
If you can't see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
He who plants a tree, plants a hope.
Lucy Larcom
I do try to save paper as much as I can and have cut back on my use of paper products such as paper plates and paper towels. It’s easy enough to wash the dishes and use cloth towels and wash and reuse those.
I also use the internet to send out my email and invites, but still do use and send out birthday cards. I no longer get the newspaper or magazines, but read them online.
I remember when the boy scouts used to do paper drives and fill huge truck beds with newspapers for recycling. I no longer collect stacks of papers like that to donate.
I have a large tree next to my house which I really appreciate and am thankful for its shade in the summer and for all the acorns which feed the wild life around here. Not only the squirrels but also the birds. They all have plenty to eat.
I used to have a tree out front and on the other side of the house too, but those were taken down a couple of years ago due to problems the roots were causing in the drains. I miss them and the shade they provided all summer long.
It’s Sunday and today I’m staying in and not venturing out, I’m staying in and relaxing on the porch. The sun will be shinning and it’ll be a great day to spend out there watching nature in all it’s glory.
The week ahead will be a busy one and we all need time out just to relax and refresh.
I hope you all have a RELAXING Sunday!!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
The creation of a thousand forests is in one acorn.
Ralph Waldo Emerson
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
9011. for forests and all the wonderful benefits they provide
9012.for a sunny day to spend on the sun porch
9013. for leftovers to warm up for dinner
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
A nation that destroys its soil destroys itself. Forests are the lungs of our land, purifying the air and giving fresh strength to our people.
Franklin D. Roosevelt
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
Love,

The trees provide shelter, shade and are an important part of our life. We need air to breathe.
I don't have nearly as much paper as I used to either. We're doing our part to save trees. :)
With the exception of greeting cards and one monthly obligation, we've succeeded in going paperless. I'll admit -- I was nervous at first, but love it. Unfortunately, we've had to have 5 large trees taken down to safeguard our home and cars. But now, instead of sending flowers when someone passes, I make a contribution to one of the Plant A Tree memorial organizations.
I love trees but one does have to be careful of the big roots! Take it easy!
