Life is a special occasion!

Today is National Paraprofessional Appreciation Day which honors those educators for their hard work and dedication to their students.
This holiday is observed annually on the first Wednesday of April and shows appreciation for educators such as teacher’s aides and instructional assistants. Paraprofessionals often provide teachers with administrative support, work with students outside the classroom and provide one on one support for students who have disabilities or special needs.
To celebrate today, take the time to recognize the vital work paraprofessionals contribute!
If you can't see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Educaton is not preparation for life; education is life itself.
John Dewey
My daughter is a para and DDIL#1 is a teachers aide and I know the good they do with the students in their classrooms. They choose the profession due to the fact that they could work the same hours as their children in school and love the work they do.
Today is my day to make a menu for next week so I can make up my shopping list foe for the week.
On the menu for next week Is:
Monday- Hearty Minestone
Wednesday - Spaghetti Carbonara with Peas
Friday- French Onion Dip Pasta with Arugula
Weekend - Chicken and Cauliflower Rice Casserole
On the menu for today is:
Italian Turkey Meatballs
Makes 12 servings
for the meat balls:
3 slices bread, torn into small pieces
1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
2 lbs lean ground turkey
1/4 minced fresh parsley
2 eggs, lightly beaten
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 tsp Italian seasoning
1/2 tsp salt.
1/2 tsp pepper
For the sauce:
2 onions chopped
2 cans of crushed tomatoes in puree
2 cans, 6 oz. tomato paste
4 garlic cloves, minced
1 Tbsp. sugar
2 tsp Italian seasoning
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
2 bay leaves
Hot cooked pasta
Additional minced fresh parsley and grated Parmesan cheese, optional
Preheat broiler. Combine bread and milk in a large bowl, let stand until absorbed. Add next 8 ingredients; mix lightly but thoroughly. Shape into 1 1/2 inch balls; place on a greased rack of a broiler pan. Broil 5 inches from heat until lightly browned.
For the sauce in a slow cooker, mix together the next nine ingredients. Add bay leaves and meat balls, gently stir into sauce
Cook covered on low until meatballs are cooked through, about 4 hours. Discard bay leaves and serve with pasta if desired, sprinkle with parsley and Parmesan cheese
I’ll have these meatballs on spaghetti today and tomorrow I’ll have meatball sandwiches which are a favorite of mine.
We’re supposed to start the day with no rain again, but showers will be moving in this afternoon. So I’m hoping to get out shopping and back without getting wet.
I hope you all have a WONDERFUL Wednesday!

Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters and EMT’s.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU!

You're blessed when you're content with just who you are—no more, no less. That's the moment you find yourselves proud owners of everything that can't be bought

Paraprofessionals do a lot to aide education.
Very good points today, WE really do need to remember those that support our teachers, they have a tough job and any relief is good.

I don't think I'd ever heard the term 'paraprofessional' before! Certainly, not what it meant. Such an important, necessary role they play; I'm glad to know the burden doesn't fall solely on teachers. When everyone works together, the students are sure to benefit.
