ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
THURSDAY, APRIL 21ST, 2022
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is National High Five Day which celebrates the high five and giving high fives to everyone. A group of students at the University of Virginia declared the First National High Five Day in 2002.
Nobody knows who invented the high five. NBA player Derek Smith claimed that he created the high five while playing for the University of Louisville, According to another story a man named Mont Sheets popularized the gesture. While Mont was growing up in Kentucky, his fathers old army friends would greet each other by extending their arms straight up in the air saying the name of their division , Five. As a young boy it ws difficult for Mont to remember all the names of his father’s friends, so when he saw them he would just say, Hi Five. This childhood greeting stuck with him and he started to greet others with high fives.
The trick to the perfect high five is to look at the other person’s elbow as you are about to give a high five to them. You’ll have a perfectly accurate high five every time.
Celebrate and give others a high five today !
If you can't see the bright side, polish the dull side
It is fun to say hi to people. It is good to meet them and give high fives and stuff.

It’s so nice to once again greet others with a touch. A high five or a hand shake. For a long two years, we couldn’t touch at all. Thankfully things are much better these days! I’m sending you all a virtual High Five today !
High Five!
We’re to be in the 60’s today and now they are saying we may hit 80 by the weekend. It’s wonderful to feel warm again. The chill is off and we’re headed toward summertime weather, but rain is expected today and tomorrow.
Thankfully, I got my shopping done yesterday when it was dry outside, so I’ve no reason to go out today. I’m staying in and keeping dry. Hopefully I’ll be able to open some windows and let the fresh air in.
I hope you all have a GREAT day. Happy Thursday!

Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.

10,175. for a warmer day
10,176. for a day at home
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters and EMT’s.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
You should give yourself a high five every morning. Really.

I think the only time I have used the high five is with a grandchild or the Great grands. I like the thumb up in the photo.
Have a blessed day up that way and stay warm... ;-)
Love the High 5 ... what a fun holiday! I'll have to remember that tip about looking at the other person's elbow. I've not seen any High 5's down here, but I was amused yesterday when, at the VA, Tom's doctor greeted us with fist bumps.
Great photos. Have not had a high 5 for a long time.
