ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
SATURDAY, APRIL 16TH, 2022
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a special occasion!

Today is Nationals Wear Your Pajamas to Work Day which celebrates our cozy and comfortable pajamas. It is exactly what it sounds like, a day to wear you pajamas to work. This holiday always follows the weekday after taxes are due because a ultra casual day is the perfect way to recover. Just make sure to check your schedule to make sure you don’t have any big meetings planned.
To celebrate, sport your favorite PJs to the office today.
If you can't see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
I would wear pajamas to work every day it were up to me.
Kerry Washington
Now that I’m retired, I often wear my pjs to do my work in, but when I worked away from home, I never wore them to work.
PJs are cozy and comfortable and when I have them on I feel like relaxing, not working.
We have plans to get together with some family fun and to go out today for a visit to the Natural History Museum. So I’ll get dressed to go out of the house, it won’t be a pajama day for me.
My eye doctor appointment yesterday went well and I’m on track now to get the other eye done on May 10th. So far I haven’t seen any great improvement but my eyes is still healing.
Most of my family is now on Spring break and a lot of them will be spending more time in their pajamas this coming week. It’s break time and time to rest up and relax.
I’m cooking today for the weekend and on the menu is:
Slow Cooker Spicy Red Pepper Chicken
Makes 6 servings
2 yellow onions divided
2 lemons, divided
1/2 cup chicken broth, divided
1 red bell pepper, chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp ginger
1 Tbsp. paprika
1 tsp cayenne pepper
1/4 tsp salt, divided
2 Tbsp. olive oil
1, 4 lb chicken, giblets removed
Slice 1 onion and 1 lemon into thick rounds; spread in an even layer in a slow cooker. Chop the remaining onion and juice the remming lemon; transfer to a blender. Add 1/4 cup broth, bell pepper garlic ginger, cayenne and 1/2 tsp salt. Puree until very smooth. Transfer 1/4 cup of the sauce to a small bowl and whisk in oil. Rerigerate until needed.
Add chicken to slow cooker. Pour remaining sauce over it. Swirl the remaining 1/4 cup broth in the blender to get all the remaining sauce; pour over the chicken. Cover and cook about 3 hours on high or 6 hours on low. No peaking !
Position rack in upper third of oven; preheat broiler to high. Carefully transfer the chicken to a baking safe pan or cast iron . Discard the reserved sauce. Broil until starting to brown.
I’ll be having mine with some roast potatoes and a side salad.
I Hope you all have a SUPER Saturday!

Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters and EMT’s.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.

Spring break is a great time to have some family fun!
Not a fan of PJ's and definitely could not wear them to work. LOL Hope you have a wonderful weekend. Loved the graphics today. ;-)
I love pajamas and am apt to linger by the racks while in a department store. So cute and creative they've become! Remember pajama parties? I'm not surprised to hear some companies observe such a day, but I'd have to draw the line. Maybe it's just me, but everything seems to be trending overly casual.
I hope your outing to the Museum was great fun!
