ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
MONDAY, APRIL 25TH, 2022
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is National DNA Day which commemorates two important events in the history of DNA research. James Watson and Francis Crick’s discovery of the double helix in 1953 and the completion of the Human Genome Project in April 2003. Both of these accomplishments have had a huge impact on modern biomedical research and innovation.
The official sponsor of this day is the National Human Genome Research Institute which is a part of NIH, National Institute of Health. Every year the institute hosts a series of forums and contests to help celebrate the unique branch of of science.
To join the celebration today, Participate in one of the many activities happening today and take a moment to learn something new about genetics and DNA.
If you can't see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
DNA is like a computer program but far, far more advanced than any software ever created.
Bill Gates
We all have our own individual DNA. No two are a like. God made us uniquely and wonderfully. Many are having their DNA checked these days to find out more about their ancestors. I haven’t had that done yet, but think it would be wonderful to know more about my ancestors. There are also many criminals that are now tracked down thanks to DNA tests. They are proof positive of who committed a crime. I will definitely be celebrating today because I believe the God made each one of us to be a unique and beautiful human being..
It’s Monday and my day to cook up something new to eat. On the menu today is:
Hearty Penne Beef
Makes 4 servings
1 3/4 cups of uncooked penne pasta
1lb. lean ground beef
1 tsp. minced garlic
1 15 iz cab if tomato puree
1 can, 14 oz, beef broth
1 1/2 tsp. Italian seasoning
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
2 cups chopped fresh spinach
2 cups shredded mozerella cheese
Cook pasta according to package directions. Meanwhile in a Dutch oven, cook beef over medium heat until no longer pink, breaking it into crumbles. Add garlic, cook 1 minute longer. Drain, Stir in tomato puree, broth, Italian seasoning, Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper.
Bring to a boil . Reduce heat, simmer, uncovered, until slightly thickened, about 15 minutes. Add spinach , cook until wilted.
Drain pasta, stir into beef mixture. Sprinkle with cheese. Cover and cook until cheese is melted. One serving is 1 1/2 cups .
I don’t happen to have tomato puree so will use some crushed tomatoes instead. You could also use tomato sauce.
There will be a cold front moving our way today and that will bring rain and colder weather in the days ahead. The weather isn’t about to settle down yet. It’ll be the weekend before we start warming up again.
Today’s pictures are from our Easter gathering 2022. They are my family and all share my DNA.
I hope you all have a GREAT start to this new week. Happy Monday!

they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters and EMT’s.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.

I'm discouraged about the inability to upload new pictures and haven't been able to figure it out.
Oh, I'm sorry about the computer glitch. I was looking forward to seeing this year's photos, and I know you were excited to share.
I'm in awe of the DNA technology which exists. It's fun to learn more about our own biological make-up (my son got me the test a few years ago); but it didn't really change the way I think about myself. What fascinates me is how authorities are usingDNA to identify the real criminals and, in some cases, set others free who were wrongly imprisoned.
This thing has been dead stopped most of the day. We are on line with a cell signal and Boom it is SSSSSLOWWW. But as usual I learn something first it was fingerprints now DNA we cannot hide. ;-) Sweet read glad I finally got here....
