ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
TUESDAY,FEBRUARY 1ST, 2022
The moments our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is the first day of the Lunar New Year which begins with the first new moon of the year and ends with the first full moon fifteen days later. It is the most important holiday in China when millions of people travel home to be with their families.
The Lunar New Year is full of dances, fireworks, feasts, gift giving and lantern festivals. Red is the traditional color of the holiday because it symbolizes luck and prosperity. Many families will paint their doors a bright scarlett to bring good fortune in the year to come. According to tradition, each year of the Chinese calendar is associated with one of the twelve zodiac signs: rat, ox, tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake, horse, sheep, rooster, dog, or pig. The year 2022 is the year of the Tiger. The tiger is associated with power, rebellion, adventure and unpredictibility.
To celebrate, adorn your home with glowing paper lanterns and do a little house cleaning to sweep away any bad luck. Happy Lunar New Year !
If you can't see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Just as you usher in lights, lanterns and other forms of illuminations to welcome the New Year, may the New Year usher in for you new hopes, dreams and aspirations.

To celebrate today I’m going to be breaking open a Chinese fortune cookie. I keep a tub of them handy so any guests that come can also have one.
It’s a fun thing to do. I really don’t believe in fortune telling. I think we make own own luck by what we do. Most of it means a lot of hard work for each of us.
We used to make paper lanterns a lot when we were camping. We’d hang them around the edges of our awnings which were lighted by a string of lights, making them glow.
We also had a lot of fireworks going off here on New Years Eve, especially at midnight when the New Year came in. I wonder if I’ll be hearing any tonight.
Every day is a day to celebrate in my opinion. We have the gift of life every day and should celebrate that !
Last year, My fortune read, you will receive an inheritance because of your kindness to others. I did that I think, because kindness came back to me in abundance.
I hope you all have a TERRIFIC Tuesday!!

Happy Lunar New Year, Ma! Your keeping a tub of those fortune cookies on hand sounds like a great idea. No matter what one's age, who doesn't love cracking one and discovering their 'fortune'?
