Decide to be happy today, to live with what is yours – your family, your business, your job, your luck. If you can’t have what you like, maybe you can like what you have.
Just for today, be kind, cheerful, agreeable, responsive, caring, and understanding. Be your best, dress your best, talk softly, and look for the bright side of things. Praise people for what they do and do not criticize them for what they cannot do. If someone does something stupid, forgive and forget. After all, it’s just for one day.
Who knows, it might turn out to be a nice day.
Always think on the bright side--no matter what life brings to your day. You'll gain a treasure within your soul that no worry or hardship can ever take away. Isaac Purcell
RECIPES AND CRAFTS
The labels shown below will take you to posts with recipes and a few craft ideas that I've included in my daily entries.
I'm looking out the window and the day is drab and dreary, And I'm trying to console myself by thinking something cheery I know it's simply horrible to get in such a slump And I also know it's up to me to get across the hump And I realize I'm selfish to mention this to you For, gee, you might be feeling a little 'low-down' too but often when I feel like this I tell myself it's true That I am not the only one who feels 'low-down and blue' And just knowing there are others who feel the way I do Renews my sinking spirit and keeps me smiling through and know that it's natural to take a 'spirit-dive' Provides the spunk and courage to hang on and survive And while there are a lot of moods that we can drive away by looking on the BRIGHT SIDE in all we do and say, There also is a loneliness that God meant us to feel But, gee, it sure is mighty hard to know which one is real And I'd hate to be a 'sad sack' who never saw the sun And just complained that every day was such a dreary one. But I know that all the dark days are just part of God's plan We should accept them graciously and do the best we can... So I'll just keep on trying for I know it's 'Gospel true' there never was a cloud so dark the sun could not shine through!

On the Bright Side Newsletter
I send this little letter out each morning to all my family and friends and even to a few people that I've never met. Many of them send it on to others too. So in order to make it available to more people I post the 'brighter side' of the news here each day in this journal. The letter began as an effort to keep in touch with my family as they are spread out in all directions. My family, friends and God are the most important things in my life. You'll find quotes, poems and stories and even a few recipes included in this newsletter. I try to find something new each day to share. In a world that very often publishes only the dark side of things I felt that others would be encouraged to hear about 'the bright side'. 'On Ya'-ma

ON THE BRIGHT SIDE OF LIFE
The comfortable and comforting people are those who look upon the bright side of life; gathering its roses and sunshine and makingthe most that happens seem the best.
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.
Today is also National Tooth Fairy Day which celebrates the baby teeth the kids have lost before they got their permanent teeth.
For hundreds of years people have shared mystical legends and traditions about the loss of baby teeth. The early Europeans buried children’s teeth so witches and evil spirits couldn’t use them for voodoo. The Vikings believed that children teeth had magical powers that would help them fight in battle. They would pay their children for their lost teeth and string them onto a necklace and other jewelry.
Over time, people began to share stories of a Tooth Mouse who scampered around town and steals children’s teeth in the middle of the night. The story of the mouse evolved into the story of the Tooth Fairy who leaves treasures under children’s pillows in exchange for their lost teeth.
The Tooth Fairy is still popular today. Kids all over the world place their lost teeth under their pillows at night and look forward to a wonderful surprise in the morning.
If you can't see the bright side, polish the dullside
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
For loose teeth the tooth fairy recommends tying your tooth to a brick and throwing soid brick down the stairs.

This grandson’s birthday was one that I got to celebrate in person. I went to his party on Saturday. DS#6 and his wife were the hosts and we had a fun time. They fixed a delicious pasta dinner as that is what my grandson requested. All the children were happy to see each other and had a good time. I’m so thankful that I got to go as far too many birthdays are long distance ones in my family. He is now 12 years old which reminds me that it is now 12 years that I’ve been retired. The first thing I did when I retired was to go and baby sit for him when his mom went back to work after her maternity leave. It was a time of great joy for me. I didn’t get to do this with my older grandchildren due to the fact that I was working.
Over the years the Tooth Fairy paid out a lot of money to my children. They all put their lost teeth under the pillow and found some money in the morning. Some poople save their childs lost teeth in a special box, but that didn’t happen at my house. The kids didn’t mind losing a tooth so much when they knew they’d get money for it.
This morning I’m going to drop off my car at the garage to be worked on and then DSIL will be giving me a ride back home. I’m not used to being out and about early, but I have to have it there by 9:00. Most days I don’t even get dressed until noon. Thankfully the weather is cooperating and it’s supposed to be a nice day here for a change. It’s to be party sunny with temps in the upper 30’s. Yay! more snow will be melting !
I hope you all have a GREAT start to this new week. Happy Monday!!

ADVICEFOR TODAY
I still believe in Santa, the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy and true love. Don’t even try to tell me different.
Happy birthday blessings to your Lucky Guy! Wow, next year the teens; where does the time fly? I love that quote by Dolly Parton. Wouldn't you love to see more people adopt that philosophy. I'm going to try!
PS - BTW, I just tried clicking on your other blog and got a pop-up saying that website had been deleted. I'll check again in a little bit.
