ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
MONDAY,JANUARY 31ST, 2022
The moments our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is Inspire Your Heart with Art Day which falls on the last day of year’s first month. Any kind of art suits Inspire your Heart with Art Day. No matter if you are into music, paintings theatre, sculptures, dance or poetry. Get inspired by any of those. Art has the power to ease a mind, to catch attention to a certain topic or to motivate people.
This day encourages people to have a close and peaceful look at a piece of art and discover what the artist tries to say through it. Take the time to find how a painting or a some music touches you and widens your horizon. Maybe this day will introduce you to a new genre of art and if you are opened minded that might even influence your further life.
To celebrate today you could go to a local museum and embark on ancient paintings and sculptures. Another possibility is to listen to classic music and step into the world of musical inspiration. You can read an art magazine, go to a dance studio and take a lesson or eatch a classic movie at home. Wherever you get your inspiration from, this day can also motivate you to create a personal piece of art.
Have fun and enjoy !
If you can't see the bright side, polish the dull side
Art is the desire of a man to express himself, to record the reactions of his personality to the world he lives in.
Amy Lowell
Years ago I decided to expand my creativity by taking some painting classes. The kind of painting I took was called Art Deco in which I was taught a technique using patterns to paint. We’d find a picture to paint and trace it and transfer it to a painting surface. Many times it was a piece of furniture or a decorative item for the home. Most of mine has been done on slate to make wall hangings as gifts. At one time I tried selling my things at craft shows, but that soon faded out when I discovered the amount of paintings that were needed to make any money at it. I couldn’t keep up with it, so had to quit doing those. Now I only paint for pleasure and to make gifts for my children.
I do have two sons that are actually artists. One is an art teacher who has a side business doing charactures. The other is a graphic artist that has started his own business and he designs art for magazines like Highlights and has successfully done artwork for children’s books. He even authored and designed his own book which has been published.
He is the one who designed my logo ON THE BRIGHTSIDE and his link is shown below.
I do enjoy all kinds of art, not just painting. Music is a favorite of mine which not only soothes but inspires and motivates me too.
I don’t know what I’d do without some type of art in my life, it always inspires my heart!
Another art I like is the art of cooking and on the menu today is:
Cold Day Chicken Noodle Soup
Makes 8 servings
1 Tbsp vegetable oil
2 ribs celery, chopped
2 carrots, chopped
1 onion chopped
8 cups chicken broth
1/2 tsp dried basil
1/4 tsp. pepper
3 cups whole wheat egg noodles
3 cups chopped rotisserie chicken
1 Tbsp fresh minced fresh parsley
In a large stockpot, heat oil over medium high heat. Add celery, carrots, onion; cook and stir until tender
Add broth, basil, and pepper. Bring to a boil. Stir in noodles and cook until they are al dente. Stir in chicken and parsley. Heat through.
Scientific studies have shown that chicken noodle soup can help ease cold symptoms. I don’t have a cold, but it is still cold outside so this is a very good day to enjoy this soup.
I hope you all have a GREAT start to this new week. Happy Monday!!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up.
Pablo Picasso

.
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
One ought, every day at least, to hear a little song, read a good poem, see a fine picture and, if it were possible to speak a few reasonable words.
Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
Love,

So thankful for so many different kinds of art that soothes, motivates and inspires me.
I love that the definition of art is so wide ranging. And what inspires me, may not someone else ... and that's perfectly okay!
Thanks for this recipe. Tom loves chicken-noodle soup, but Campbell's usually contains little chicken pieces and LOTS of sodium. I've taken to substituting low-sodium in all my recipes that call for broth -- except last week I hadn't any on hand and used regular. Surprise!, it was Tom who remarked how salty it tasted!
