ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
MONDAY,FEBRUARY 7TH, 2022
The moments our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is Send a Card to a friend day which promotes letting a friend know that you are thinking about them. Busy schedules often make it difficult to keep in touch with our pals and nuture those friendships.
Did you know that people in Europe have been sending an early form of paper greeting cards since the early 15th century. The Germans are even known to have exchanged New Year greetings on wood cuts. Greeting cards have come a long way since then.
To celebrate, send a friend a card today whether you write them a personal message of if you just send a card to say hello, brighten a friends day with a card today ! It can be online or in the mail, it doesn’t matter.
If you can't see the bright side, polish the dull side
Be well, do good work, and keep in touch.

I love keeping in touch with my family and friends and for that reason I send our this daily email. It’s important to me that you know I’m thinking about you and that I appreciate you.
So consider this my card to you.
It’s looking like after today, this week will be in the mid 30’s and more snow will melt away. I’m loving these longer and brighter days. Every day is a few minutes longer than the one before and we hope Spring will soon be here.
For today I’m cooking up something new and on the menu is:
Slow Cooker Minestrone
Makes 12 servings
1 carton, 32 oz. vegetable or chicken stock
3 cups V8 or tomato juice.
2 cups water
2 potatoes, peeled and chopped
2 celery ribs, chopped
1 carrots, chopped
1 can diced tomatoes, undrained
1 onion, chopped
3 garlic cloves, minced
2 bay leaves
1 Tbsp. Italian seasoning
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1 can, 16 oz. kidney beans, rinsed
1 can cannelloni beans
1 can cut green beans
1 small zucchini , chopped
1 cup uncooked ditalini or other small pasta
Grated Parmesan cheese, optional
Combine the first 13 ingredients in a slow cooker. Cook covered, only 6 to 8 hours. Stir in beans, zucchini and pasta, Cook cover, on high until pasta is tender. Discard bay leaves and if desired top with grated Parmesan
I’m going to substitute the cannelloni beans with navy beans as I prefer them. Otherwise I’ll be cutting the recipe in half because it makes so much. It’s a recipe for a crowd.
I hope you all have a GREAT start to this new week. Happy Monday!!

Almighty and eternal God,

as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters and EMT’s.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.

Sending a card is a way to say hello !
Since I started using Jacquie Lawson, I can keep sending cards kinda on time.
Great reminder! My high-school sweetie and I still exchange greetings via e-mail on birthdays and Christmas. Plus, I discovered a 'real' Valentines card in my mailbox today from a blog friend. Unexpected blessings sweeten my day!
