ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
FRIDAY,FEBRUARY 18TH, 2022
The moments our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a special occasion!

Today is National Battery Day which celebrates batteries which are in virtually every household. From remote controls, smoke alarms, phones toys and beyond.
Benjamine Franklin coined the term battery, but the version we know today was created by Allesandro Volta, an Italian physicist. Today commemorates his birthday and marks the importance of the modern day battery.
What would the world be without batteries? Celebrate today by appreciating all the items that they allow you to use. Use today as a reminder to check the batteries in your smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors.
Gather up any dead batteries and bring them to be recycled. Many big name retailers offer recycling kiosks inside their stores. Or better yet, switch to rechargeable ones.
If you can't see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
The top thing that uses up your cell phone battery is the data system. Turn it off and your cell phone battery will last longer.
Steven Magee
Their truly is no end to the battery uses in my home. I have rechargeable ones that even run my lawnmower and weed hacker and my laptop computer and phone. Of course the biggest battery would be in my car. It won’t run at all without it and it recharges when I run the car.
My community provides for a winter home check here and they replaced the batteries in my smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector. They should be replaced at least once a year. I also keep flashlights on hand in case of a loss of electricity. Then too I have a blood pressure machine that I use daily that takes batteries to run on. I truly don’t know what I would do if there were no batteries in my life.
It’s my day to cook once again and on the menu for today is
Snappy Tuna Melts
Makes 4 servings
1 pouch, 11 oz., light tuna in water
1 hard boiled egg, coarsely chopped
2 Tbsp. creamy balsamic vinaigrette
1 Tbsp. Stone ground mustard, optional
4 whole wheat hamburger buns
8 slices tomato
8 slices Swiss cheese
In a small bowl, mix tuna, egg, vinaigrette and if desired mustard. Place buns on a baking sheet, cut side up. Broil one to two minutes or until golden brown.
Spread tuna mixture over buns, top with tomato and cheese. Broil two to three minutes longer until cheese is melted.
I like to use onion Rolls when I make these. I didn’t have cream balsamic vinaigrette so I used some creamy Italian dressing that I had on hand.
It’s cold here once again and we’re going back in the deep freeze but hopefully not for very long. They say on Sunday we’ll warm back up to almost 50 degrees.
I hope you all have a FANTASTIC Friday!!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
9994 for batteries, I can’t do without them
9995. for a good day to stay in and do housework
9996 for warmer weather coming our way
.
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters and EMT’s.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
Perspectives are like batteries. You can see the positive or the negative, and they’ll keep you charged up, if you replace them often enough.

A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…

We often take for granted little things like batteries, but they do make a big difference.
Where would we be without our batteries? Even though our weather radio has solar panels, I keep a fresh supply of AA's at the ready, just in case.
Funny story: Day before yesterday Tom was down in the dumps because his beloved Korg keyboard stopped working. We presumed it fell victim to a power surge in one of the recent storms. But no. He discovered a little 3V battery under the bottom, called up Batteries & More, and the rest, as they say, is history. Unfortunately, they're only sold in packs of 6, but he was happy to spend the money. All these years he's had it (2008) before realizing it had a battery compartment!
Batteries have made differences in everything. We collect them to be recycled, but I can't find a place.
