ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
WEDNESDAY, JUNE 9TH, 2021
The moments our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is Donald Duck’s birthday, who is Disney character we love for his instantly recognizable voice and micheiveous spirit. He is one of he most popular Disney characters along with his best buddy Mickey Mouse. Donald has actually appear in more movies and cartoons than any other Disney character.
His first animated appearance was in the Wise Little Hen in 1934. Over the next twenty years Donald appeared in more than theatrical films, including one that recognize at the Academy Awards.
Celebrate today as you watch some classic movies or cartoons with your family.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
A good laugh is like sunshine in the house.
William Makepeace Thackeray
Donald Duck always makes me smile. He not only has a comical voice but he gets into a lot of mischief too. Cartoons make us laugh and that is always good. I watched more of them with the grand babes were small than I do now aways, so today might just be a good day to watch one one again.
We all need a good laugh now and then. It’s my day to get groceries and our scattered rain showers continue so I’m hoping to get out and get shopping done while it is dry. We’ll see.
I have a menu plan for next week to do my shopping from and on it is:
Monday - Anerican Goulash
Wednesday- Grilled Beef Mushroom Burgers
Friday - Easy Spicy Salmon Cakes
Weekend - Baked Lemon Pepper Chicken
On the menu for today is:
Confetti Kiebassa Skillet
Makes 4 servings
1 tbsp. vegetable oil
7 oz. smoked turkey keibassa
1 onion halved and sliced
1/2 cup sliced mushrooms
2 garlic cloves, minced
1/2 cup chicken broth
3/4 tsp Mrs Dash garlic and herb seasoning blend
1 can, 15 oz., black beans rinsed and drained
1 package ready to serve brown rice
1 cup frozen corn
1/2 cup chopped sweet red pepper
4 tsp minced fresh cilantro
In a large skillet heat oil over medium high heat. Add kielbasa, onion and mushrooms, cook and stir 4 to 6 minute or until vegetables are tender. Add garlic, cook one minute longer.
Add broth and seasoning blend, stiring to loosen bits from pan. Bring to a boil and cook until liquid is almost evaporated. Stir in remaining ingredients and heat through.
You can add a bit of cajun seasoning or cayenne pepper if you want to spice it up. You can also use parley and garlic powder instead of the herb blend seasoning.
Today’s pictures are of geese that came by to visit for awhile at my house. They were having fun playing in the puddles here.
I hope you have a WONDERFUL Wednesday!

Have some fun today. Watch a cartoon and laugh.
I like Donald Duck too, he's always been a favorite. Nice menu and dinner sound good too. Hope you get your shopping done and make it back home before the rain!
Donald Duck was always a favorite of mine ... as well as those adorable nephews, Huey, Dewey and Louie. I used to love reading their comic books. Good times.
