The moments our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is Meteor Day which refers to a visible streak of light that is produced by debris falling to the Earth from space We call this beautiful phenomenon a shooting star or a falling star. The tradition of wishing upon a shooting star can be traced all the way back to 127 AD. Ptolemy, the Greek astronomer, hypothesized that the Gods occassionally like to peer down to Earth from above. From time to time, a star or two would slip past them and fall through the heavens. Anyone who saw a shooting star knew that the Gods were paying attention, so it was the perfect time to make a wish.
Shooting stars are actually quite small. The average Metroid is about the size of a pebble. Around of 15,000 tons of meteoroids enter the Earths atmosphere every day, but very few of them actually reach the surface. When they do reach the Earth, they are called meteorites.
To celebrate today and spend some time star gazing tonight or find out when the next meteor shower is going to happen. If you see a shooting star, remember to make a wish.
If you can't see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
When it is dark enough, you can see the stars.
Ralph Waldo Emerson
Today’s pictures were taken from the internet. I rarely get a good picture of the night sky. I’ve seldom seen a shooting star, but I did make a wish when I did. The best place to view the stars was when we were camping in the woods. We used to sit back in our chairs and look up at the sky. More than not, when I saw something moving it turned out to be a satellite. Who knew you could actually see them up in the sky. I have an app on my phone that lets me know exactly what I’m looking at. It’s called Sky View and it was free.
Today is the last day of June and tomorrow we’ll be celebrating the month of July. With that in mind I’ve done up my menu with some 4th of July meals. It’s my day to go shopping and I make my list from the menu I make up.
On the menu for next week is;
Monday - Chicken Ceasar Pasta Salad
Wednesday - Chicago Char Dog with Fresh Cucumber Relish
Friday -Summer Herbed Grilled Shrimp
Weekend - BBQ Chicken Sandwiches with Coleslaw
On the menu for today is:
Confetti Kielbassa Skillet
1 tbsp. vegetable oil
7 oz. smoked turkey kielbasa, cut into 1/4 inch slices
1 onion halved and sliced
1/2 cup sliced mushrooms
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 cup chicken broth
3/4 tsp Mrs. Dash Garlic and Herb seasoning
1 can 15 oz, black beans, rinsed and drained
1 package ready to serve brown rice
1 cup frozen corn
1/2 cup chopped red peppers
4 tsp. minced fresh cilantro
In a large skillet, heat oil over medium high heat. Add kielbasa, onion and mushrooms and cook until vegetables are tender. Add garlic and cook 1 minute longer.
Add broth and seasoning blend, stirring to loosen browned bits from pan. Bring to a boil and cook until liquid is almost evaporated. Stir in remaining ingredients, heat through.
You can top this with some shredded cheese if you wish. It’s a quick and easy dish to make.
I hope you have a WONDERFUL Wednesday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
The nitrogen in our DNA, the calcium in our teeth, the iron in our blood, the carbon in our apple pies were made in the interiors of collapsing stars. We are made of starstuff.
Carl Sagan
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.

Don't forget to wish upon a star...
I shall do that very thing tonight! The stars are beautiful down here in the country! June has flown by and in a mere 62 days it will be September First! It’s a little bit silly but I do love that day above all others! It may not be one degree cooler but it will be September!
What is your favorite season and month? I can’t remember you saying.
"Catch a falling star and put it in your pocket, save it for a rainy day ...." I've only glimpsed one or two falling stars, but it's a thrill. Thanks for the tip about the Sky View app; I hope it's available on android.
Your menu sounds refreshing! I keep meaning to ask, are any of these recipes done in your air fryer? Basically the only thing we use ours for anymore is pizza.
I can't believe it's already the end of June, it just flew by! Your plan for the week sounds like some some perfect summer meals. :)
