ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
SATURDAY, JUNE 12TH, 2021
The moments our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is Red Rose Day which is a day to appreciate the favorite flower; Roses have been long used as a symbols in a number of societies. Roses are symbols of love and beauty.
Roses are best know as ornamental plants grown for their flowers in the garden and sometimes indoors. They have also been used for commercial perfumary and commercial cut flower crops.
Some are used as landscape plants for hedging and other utilitarian purposes.such as ground cover and slope stabilization.
To celebrate today, take time to stop and smell the roses !
If you can't see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
If I had a rose for every time I thought of you, I’d be picking roses for a lifetime.
Swedish Proverb
Sadly, I don’t have a rose bush here at my house. I tried to grow one last year but was unsuccessful. I do love them and red are my favorite. I had a rose bush at the old house and miss it very much. That is what the pictures are from today.
The smell of roses was my mother’s favorite scent. She always wore rose body lotion and anyone who knew her, knew how she smelled. It was her favorite fragrance. I like it too and have some rose cologne on the shelf and aways think of her when I wear it.
Saturdays are always my day to cook for the weekend and on the menu for today is:
Turkey Stuffed Bell Peppers
Makes 5 servings
5 medium green, red, or yellow bell peppers.
2 tsp. olive oil
1 1/4 lb lean ground turkey
1 onion, chopped
1 garlic clove , minced
2 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp Italian seasoning
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp pepper
2 medium tomatoes, finely chopped
1 3/4 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 1/2 soft bread crumbs
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Cut peppers lengthwise in half, remove seeds. Place in a 15 by 10 by 1 inch pan coated with cooking spray.
In large skillet, heat oil over medium high heat. Cook and crumble turkey with onion, garlic and seasonings over medium high heat until meat is no longer pink. Cool slightly, stir in tomatoes, cheese and bread crumbs.
Fill peppers with turkey mixture. Sprinkle with paprika. Bake uncovered until filling is heated through and peppers are tender. 20 to 25 minutes.
I also like to make stuffed peppers with rice instead of bread crumbs, But today will be using this recipe and serve it with a side of rice and a salad.
I’m also making a bowl of macaroni salad today to take to the rescheduled birthday party tomorrow. It’s for our XFactor. His original party had to be cancelled due to inclement weather. Tomorrow promises to be much better, however the forecast includes some spotty showers too. We’ll just hope we are in the right spot and stay dry.
I hope you have a SUPER Saturday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
God gave us memory so that we might have roses in December.

Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY

My mother always loved roses and anything rose scented too. Enjoy that yummy dinner you're making and have a great time at the party tomorrow! :)
How great that you keep that rose cologne to remind you of your mother! For some reason, it's my little pink bottle of Oil of Olay that arouses the keenest memories of my mother.
Like music, certain aromas can instantly carry us back to a time that was.
