ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
TUESDAY, JUNE 8TH, 2021
The moments our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is World Oceans Day which honors the world’s oceans and celebrates the products the ocean provides.
This day provides an opportunity to get directly involved in protecting our future through a new mindset and personal and community action and involvement — beach clean ups, educational programs, art contests, film festivals, sustainable sea food events, and other planned activities to raise consciousness of how our lives depend on the oceans.
If you can't see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
I don’t live by the ocean but do live near Lake Erie and I think the same policies can be applied to our Lake as they are to the ocean. We try to keep our beaches clean and there are programs that teach how to keep our Lake clean. We also have fish festivals and beach art too.
Our biggest problem of late seams to be the algae growing in our lake and they say a lot of this is caused by the run off from fertilizers used on our many farms. The chemicals are not good for our water. We do depend on the lake for our source of fresh water here. There are water treatment plants that make it clean drinkable water right to our kitchen sinks. When there is a lot of algee in the water the only thing I need to worry about is the smell, but there are those that are greatly affected and don’t have access to drinkable water and have to have it shipped in.
Water is one thing we should never take for granted, be it an ocean or a lake, we need it in order to live.
Although the ocean is salt water and we cannot drink it like the fresh water of our lake, it still provides a lot of our food. Fish are good and good for us too.
If I go out to eat, I’’ll always choose seafood over a steak. It’s something I could eat more of given the chance. I do try to have it once a week.
Today we’re to have a rainy day once more, with mostly scattered showers coming our way. It remains very warm and humid here. Almost tropical in comparison to what we’ve had.
Today’s pictures are of another of my trips to the beach,This one taken in 2018. It is my favorite place to be.
I hope you have a TERRIFIC Tuesday!

Never take our water for granted
Cute picture of you on the beach:)
I love the photos today Ma. We have so many problems here in Florida with water pollution caused by run off too. In the summer it often causes red tide which is a huge killer of sea life and causes respiratory issues for people on or near the beaches. It's a horrible thing that I hope something will done about before it's too late.
Only yesterday over lunch Tom and I were talking about the Great Lakes! Actually it all started, my yakking about the wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald. Hard to wrap my mind around that kind of violent storms on a lake.
Anyway. In spite of going on a Great Lakes cruise when I was 15, I don't remember seeing any beaches. (Yes, Tom being a Chicago native had a good laugh about that.)
I agree, you look darn cute in that hat! Hope you get to enjoy a beach day SOON!
