ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
FOR SUNDAY, MAY 23RD, 2021
The moments our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is National Chip and Dip Day which are the iconic American party snack. Whether you prefer tortilla chips, potato chips, or corn chips, there are dozens of dips to complement your snack of choice.
Humans have dipping their food into sweet and savory sauces for centuries. Some of earliest dips were hummus and olive oil, which originated in the Meditarerainean region and are still very popular today. Salsas and dips with sour cream became popular in the United States in the 1940’s. After the Great Depression, many middle class families found themselves without a maid for the first time. Chips and dip became the go to party dish because it was so simple to prepare.
To celebrate today, invite some friends over for a potluck style chip and dip party.
If you can't see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
I eat a lot. I eat three times a day and I snack.
Suzanne Sommers
When I went out eat dinner on Mother’s Day, they served a loaf of Italian bread with an olive and herb dipping sauce with our meal. It was delicious and I ate way too much bread with my salad. I barely had enough room left over to eat the actual dinner. I was also able to bring some home to enjoy again the next day.
I love to snack and like chips and dips of most any kind. My favorite would have to be potato chips with onion dip. Mmmm good!! No doubt about it, I’ll probably have some today as I sit out on the porch relaxing and probably reading another book. It’s amazing how many books have food in them and they tend to make me hungry. I have a pitcher of lemonade mixed up to enjoy with them.
It’s my day to rest and I think I’ll be staying at home and watching church service on line, but they say we won’t be having that option very long now at all. They are expecting everyone to back to church by the beginning of June,. Which is a blessing and a sign of so many people being vaccinated. So it’s the last weekend I’ll be watching services in my pajamas..
It’s so wonderful that our world is returning to more normal days.
I hope you have a RELAXING Sunday!

our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

Have a restful and relaxing Sunday !
Have a wonderful Sunday Ma! :)
A chips-and-dip supper sounds so good! Self-indulgence at its best. (*grin*)
Like you, Tom favors potato chips and onion dip. I'm more a Tortilla chip/warm queso gal myself. Trouble is, I can't stop at just a few.
