ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
FOR FRIDAY, MAY 28TH, 2021
The moments our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is Hamburger Day which celebrates hamburgers and cheeseburgers that have been a staple of the American diet for decades. Nothing says say summertime like a big juice hamburger. Americans eat almost 60 billion burgers a year - that’s the equivalent of 3 burgers a week for every person in the United States.
Although they originated in Hamburg, Germany, eating a burger on a bun is actually an American tradition. The hamburger as we know it was most likely invented in Seymore, Wisconsin. Each year the city hosts a hamburger festival called Burger Fest. That is where the world’s largest hamburger made its debut in 2001. It weighed 8,266 pounds.
To celebrate today, grill up some tasty burgers for dinner tonight . Don’t forget about the delicious says you can customize your burger. Add bacon, ketchup, lettuce and mayonaise and many other favorites.
If you can't see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
It requires a certain kind of mind to see the beauty in a hamburger bun.

It’s the start of Memorial Day weekend so I’m sure many will be having burgers at some point in the next few days. But here at my house the menu for this week say today I’ll be having:
Spring Roll Salad
Makes 1 serving
1 tbsp. smooth peanut butter
1 /2 tsp. sesame oil
1 1/2 tsp rice vinegar
1 tsp maple maple syrup
1 tsp soy sauce
1 tsp water
1/2 tsp. minced garlic
Pinch of crushed red pepper, optional
3 oz. cooked shrimp
1/2 cup cooked brown riche
1/4 cup chopped red cabbage
1/4 cup julienned bell pepper
1/4 cup julienned carrots
1/4 cup julienned cucumbers
1/4 cup avocado
Fresh mint and sesame seeds for garnish
Whisk peanut butter, oil, rice vinegar, maple syrup, soy sauce, water, garlic and crushed red pepper, if desired, in a small bowl until smooth.
Combine lettuce, shrimp, rice cabbage, bell pepper, carrot, cucumber and avocado in a bowl. Add dressing and toss to combine. Garnish with mint and sesame seeds, if desired.
I’m using green cabbage instead of red because that what I have on hand here It shouldn't make much difference at.all.
The weather here is cold and rainey, and looks to stay that way until Monday when we’ll start warming up again. I’m staying in today and making Macaroni Salad for the birthday party I’m going to tomorrow. Hopefully it won’t rain all day as it’s supposed to be outdoors.
I hope you have a FANTASTIC Friday!

Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their

Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

I hope you all have a great Memorial Day weekend !
I made the spring roll salad last Saturday, it was delicious! Enjoy the weekend Ma! :)
How am I just now hearing about Burger Fest? That's right up my alley 😋 .... but I'm at a loss to try to visualize an 8k pound burger. Wow.
This photo is a great looking table setting! I need to see if our Dollar Store has anything patriotic I can use through July 4. A couple weeks ago it was all watermelons and flamingos.
