ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
FOR FRIDAY, MAY 7TH, 2021
The moments our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is National Public Gardens Day which celebrates the nation’s public gardens and brings awareness to the important role they play in society. Although many have been closed, they are now beginning to open up again. Today is a day to celebrate the great outdoors.
Botanical gardens, arboreta, and other types of organized outdoor spaces help to encourage environmental management, plant and water conservation, and education in communities. Public gardens offer fun activities for their communities , while providing resources, education, and research.
Rain Bird Corporation and the American Public Gardens Associon started this holiday to raise awarements on the conservation and education efforts of the nation’s public gardens. The first National Public Gardens Day was in 2009 and was a huge success.
Celebrate today by taking a walk outside or donating to help support your local public garden.
If you can't see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Flowers always make people better, happier and more helpful. They are sunshine, food and medicine for the soul.
Luther Burbank
Today’s pictures are of one of our local public gardens. They were taken a few years ago when two of my friends and I went out to lunch. They also have a cafe there to enjoy. It was a beautiful spring day with lots of blooms to enjoy. We are blessed to have several public gardens in our area and I think I’ve visited all of them to see what they offer. All are beautiful and they do have many family activities to participate in too. I may have shared these pictures before, but they are well worth seeing again.
Today is my day to cook some kind of seafood for the week and on the menu is:
Fast Baked Fish
Makes 4 servings
1 1/4 lbs. fish fillets
1 tsp. seasoned salt
Pepper to taste
Paprika, optional
3 tbsp. butter melted
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Place fish in a greased baking pan. Sprinkle with seasoned salt, pepper and paprika if desired. Drizzle with butter. Cover and bake until fish just begins to flake easily with a forAbout 15 to 20 minutes.
For this fish recipe it is best to use a flaky white fish such as tilapia, halibut, cod, bass, grouper, catfish or snapper. White fish is a mild flavored fish that cooks quickly and seasons very well. I use tilapia in most of my fish recipes. I also like to serve my fish with a side of sliced lemon .
I’ll have my fish with air fried sweet potatoes and some cole slaw that I got at the grocery store when I went shopping Wednesday.
I hope you have a FANTASTIC Friday!

Enjoy the great outdoors today !!!
I love visiting the Botanical gardens in my area too. Enjoy your delicious fish dinner tonight. Happy Friday Ma! :)
I need to ask my DIL if there aren't public gardens nearby!
That recipe sounds yummy! Of those you've listed, I'd go for halibut or grouper; but man, they've sure become pricey. I'm not familiar with tilapia, but my granddaughter fixes that all the time.
