ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
FOR SUNDAY, MAY 16TH, 2021
The moments our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is Love a Tree Day which is celebrated annually and is an environmental holiday. It’s the perfect day to celebrate all the wonderful things trees contribute to the planet. There are some tree species that live to be several thousand years old. A mature tree can remove nearly 70 time more airborne pollution than a newly planted one
A single tree produces about 260 pounds of oxygen each year. Two fully mature trees can produce enough oxygen each year to support a family of 4.
Over 20 % of the Earth’s oxygen is produced in the Amazon Rainforest.
Show your love for trees today. Take a walk in the woods , plant a tree, or give your kids a fun arts and crafts project to draw the most beautiful tree they can imagine. It’s important to take care of our planet’s trees and appreciate their significance to our well being.
If you can't see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
The creation of a thousand forests in in one acorn.
Ralph Waldo Emerson
I’m very thankful that I have a lovely old tree on my property right next to my house. It is wonderful to have the cool shade it provides in the summer and I’m sure it cuts back on my electric bill from the air conditioning. It’s the view I see every morning from my sun porch. It provides hours of pleasure by watching the squirrels and birds that live in it. It’s an oak tree and produces acorns which also feed the wildlife.
We all know we need oxygen to live, We can’t do without it and because trees provide oxygen and clean the air we should all be thankful for them.
The pictures today are of my tree. It is beautiful and very appreciated.
It’s my day of rest and the only thing I have planned is attending Sunday services at church. It is good to be back in the actual church and not doing online services any more. We still wear masks and keep a safe distance from others but it is so much better!
After that I’l probably be out on the porch enjoying this beautiful day.I put my feet up and just relax and refresh for the coming week ahead.
I hope you have a RELAXING Sunday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS

9185..for rest and refreshment, we all need it
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
Rest is not idleness, and to be sometimes on the grass under trees on a summer’s day, listening to the murmur of water or watching clouds float across the sky, is by no means a waste of time.
John Lubbock
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…

Love your pictures of the old tree and your place, so pretty.
Enjoy church today Ma and happy Love a Tree Day! :)
Interesting facts about trees helping to reduce pollution and provide oxygen! Like other things, that's not something I given thought to. I do love our surrounding oaks and pines ... and magnolias, too. So different than the desert!
