ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 27TH, 2021
The moments our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is National Tell a Story Day which celebrates story telling of all kinds. Libraries celebrate this day with story telling hours for kids. Story telling is the conveying of events in words and images , often by improvisation or embellishment.
Stories or narratives have been shared in every culture as a means of entertainment , education, cultural preservation, and instilling moral values. Crucial elements of stories and storytelling include a plot, characters, and a narrative point of view.
Modern storytelling has a broad purview. In addition to the traditional forms - fairytales, folktales, mythology, legends, fables, etc. It has extended itself to representing history, personal narrative, political commentary, and evolving cultural norms. Contemporary storytelling is also widely used to address educational objectives.
To celebrate today, make sure to tell a story to someone.
If you can't see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
A recipe is a story that ends with a good meal.
Pat Conroy
My favorite stories are fairytales because they always have a happy ending. I know lots of them by heart because I’ve read them over and over again to my children and grandchildren. One of my granddaughter was amazed to find I could tell the story without having a book in my hand.
My own children used to enjoy sitting around a campfire telling spooky tales. One would start it and then the others would add on to it as they went around the whole campfire circle. One would try to be scarier than the other.
I also enjoyed listening to the stories told by my parents as we sat around the table having a cup of coffee. I learned a lot about them and my ancestors that I would never have known otherwise. They’d tell some of the stories over and over again , but I never tired of hearing them.
It’s important to tell the stories of our lives so others can understand where we come from.
I come from a long line of hard working people that wanted a better life for their children. Life wasn’t easy but they raised big families and I have a huge family tree.
It’s to be a good day for telling stories as it’s another cold and cloudy one, with a chance of rain. So pick up a good book and read some stories for yourself.
It’s also my day to make my grocery list from a menu I made for next week that I do my shopping from
On the menu for next week is:
Monday - Stuffed Pepper Soup
Wednesday- Apple Cider Pork Chops
Friday-Loaded Sweet Potato Nacho Fries
Weekend - Maple Roasted Chicken and Acorn Squash
On the menu for today is :
Slow Cooked Pizza Casserole
Makes 14 servings
1 pkg, 16 oz. rigatoni or tube pasta
1 1/2 lbs lean ground beef
1 onion, chopped
4 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
2 cans, 15 oz. each pizza sauce
1 can condensed cream of mushroom soup, undiluted
8 oz. sliced pepperoni
chopped fresh basil, optional
Cook pasta according to package directions. Meanwhile in a skillet cook beef and onion over medium heat until meat is no longer pink. Drain.
Drain pasta and place is a slow cooker. Stir in beef mixture, cheese, pizza sauce, soup, and pepperoni Cover and cook 2 to 3 hours until heated through. If desired top with basil before serving.
This recipe is for a large crowd so I’ll be cutting it in half for just me.
A picture can sometimes tell a story ant that’s what mine are about today. The story of DS#5’s family fun in a pumpkin patch.
I hope you all have a WONDERFUL Wednesday!

Keep on telling the stories.
What fun those littles are having!
I love your account of the scary tales 'round a campfire, everyone's imaginations. I've never tried telling stories, but sure appreciate those who do!
