ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
SUNDAY, OCTOBER 17TH, 2021
The moments our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a special occasion!

Today is National Pasta Day which celebrates Linquine, fettuccine, speghetti, tortellini, ziti— the list of pasta is endless! Pasta is typically thought of as an Italian dish, but there is evidence that people living in Asia in 2000 BC made noodles with millet.
Pasta can be made dry, pasta Mecca, or fresh, pasta fresco. There are over 350 varieties of dried pasta in Italy. The highest quality of dried pasta is made with pure durum semolina flour and water. Did you know that a typical Italian person eats over 60 pounds of pasta a year? In comparison, Americans only eat about twenty pounds per year.
To celebrate today, enjoy a delightful dish of any type of pasta topped with a scrumptious sauce!
If you can't see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Life is a combination of magic and pasta
Federico Fellini
I won’t be having any pasta today because I have leftover chicken pot pie to enjoy. I do however love pasta and have it at least once a week. Pasta is always a staple in my pantry. The only homemade pasta I’ve ever made was homemade noodles and I taught our Princess how to make them too. DDIL # 4 also makes homemade pasta too, but she has a pasta machine. That is what the pictures are of today. We especially like them in chicken paprikas and homemade noodle soup!
There is only a slight chance of rain today, but it will be mostly cloudy with only a high of 61 degrees. It has really cooled off here. Hopefully, I’lll be making it out to church here a little bit later this morning.
It looks like we’ll be experiencing Fall Temps the week ahead too with only a couple of days in the low 70’s. There will also be some nights in the 40’s so it looks like I will be turning the heat back on a gain. On the bright side, at least we had a week or so without it.
Today will be another quiet day for me, I’ll be coming home after church with nothing to do but sit and relax and read another good book.
A nice beach book sounds pretty good right now. I can read about being warm, even though it’s not very warm here at all.
I hope you all have a RELAXING Sunday!

Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

I hope you have a relaxing Sunday!
Is that a new splash back over your range? We are (I am) contemplating our kitchen.
Tom LOVES his pasta! Me, not so much -- but I did see something interesting on another blogger's post. Have you heard of 3-way? She said it's spaghetti noodles covered in chile and topped with cheddar cheese.
Enjoy your book!
