ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
TUESDAY, OCTOBER 12TH, 2021
The moments our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is Old Farmers Day which honors the contributions of farmers throughout history. Farmers have always been an important part of society as a provider of food and raw materials. Especially in American where Old Farmers Day is celebrated, in early times of a heavily farming culture.
October is a good month to celebrate Old Farmers Day. At this time most of the harvesting is done and the farmers have time to take a break and celebrate their contributions. Even if you aren’t a farmer take time to appreciate the hard work of farmers all over the world to provide sufficient food.
If you can't see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
It is only the farmer who faithfully plants seeds in the Spring, who reaps a harvest in the Autumn.
B.C. Forbes
We have to be thankful for all the food we have, whether it comes from a farm or the grocery store. It all had to be grown and harvested by a farmer. I’ve always been a city girl and my only time on a farm was when I visited by grandparents. Actually both sets of my grandparents did some farming but my dad said it was his mother that did most of the farming. His dad worked at the steel mill and my grandma took care of the farm.
Most of my summer vacations took place on my maternal grandparents farm and today’s pictures are of that farm, which now belongs to one of my cousins. I’ve shown these pictures before, but they are the only recent ones I have of it. My grandparents passed away several years ago and I don’t visit there often at all anymore.
What I do visit is our local farmer’s markets and I’ll be missing them now that fall is here and there is no produce to be had except for apples and pumpkins at this point. Nothing can beat the taste of fresh fruits and vegetables. Our growing season ends when it gets cold and the frost hits us ending it all.
But thankfully we have food shipped in from all over the country and there will be planty to be had at the grocery store. Not quite as fresh but still good.
I hope you all have a TERRIFIC Tuesday!

Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
My grandfather used to say that once in your life you need a doctor, a lawyer and a preacher. But every day, three times a day, you need a farmer

Thank a farmer today, we always need to eat good food !
Absolutely! What a debt we owe the men (and women!) who toil for little return. My maternal grandparents had a little farm in Minnesota and I recall mother lamenting how hard they worked. Sad, my uncle who inherited the place had little interest -- nor aptitude -- and ran it into ruin.
