Today is Chocolate Cupcake Day which honors cupcakes that are made with chocolate.  They are a delightful treat served at gourmet bakeries and kitchen tables across the country.

Cupcakes first emerged during the 19th century in the United States.  There are two theories about how they got their name.  One claims that the miniature cakes were originally baked in cups.  The other suggests the name comes from the recipe, which was measured out by the cup, one cup butter, two cups sugar, 3 cups flour, four eggs, 1 cup milk , one spoonful baking soda.  

Cupcakes are made in a variety of flavors, ingredients and decorations, but simple chocolate cupcakes remain a perennial favorite.  Bake and decorate a batch today to celebrate the holiday!

Once again my internet was down but now it seems to be fixed. So this post is later than usual  today. The Pictures today are of the best and most expensive cupcakes I have ever had.  I’ve shown the pictures before.  They were taken in Texas when I visited two of my sons.  What a treat they were !

I do love anything with chocolate so will celebrate today, I have some chocolate cupcakes here to enjoy ! They came in a box, prepackaged and have a creme filling inside .  I rarely bake for myself these days, but like to have some on hand,

They say today will be in the 40’s with rain and showers, Snow may mix in.  I sincerely hope not.  It’s way too early to snow and we still have a lot of leaves on the trees.

PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS

  

Please pray for God's protection of

our troops and HIS wisdom for their

commanders.

 

Almighty and eternal God,

Protect our military

as they discharge their duties

with the shield of your strength,

may the power of your love

enable them to return home in safety

that with all who love them

they may ever praise you for your loving care.

AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters and EMT’s.

We ask this through Christ our Lord.
