ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 14TH, 2021
The moments our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a special occasion!

Today is Eat a Hoagie Day winch celebrates a well known sandwich with consists of a long roll or Italian or French bread sliced lengthwise and filled with meats, cheeses, vegetables, seasonings, sauces and more.
The hoagie, is also known as a sub or grinder, and is a sandwich whose name originated in the city of Philadelphia. One story claims that the Italian immigrants who worked at a shipyard called Hog Island during WWI would bring giant sandwiches for lunch. The workers were nicknamed Hoggies, so eventually the name associated with the large sandwiches evolved over time. There are several other different stories but they give credit to Philly for the hoagie name.
To celebrate eat a hoagie for lunch today !
If you can't see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Sandwiches are wonderful. You don’t need a spoon or a plate!
Paul Lynde
I love sub sandwiches and used to make them for a lunch whenever anyone in the family moved. So they were named the moving sub.
My favorite sandwich on a bun of french bread is called a Philly Steak sandwich. You grill up little steaks with onions and peppers and put them on a bun. You can even put cheese on them for a Phiilly CheeseSteak Sandwich.
The ones I fix are called Steak-umms that come packaged at the store. I got some sausage rolls at the store when I went last week so I think I’ll have one for my lunch today.
But for dinner I’ll be having leftover chili that I made yesterday. It’s always better when it’s heated up again
Today I’m supposed to be going to lunch with a couple of my friends at one of our parks that features a tram ride through some lovely botanical gardens. This time of year there should still be a lot to see. I will be leaving here around 10:00 this morning to pick them up. They say there is a detour on the road we need to travel so it may take awhile to get there. We’ll see. we may be early instead.
I hope you all have a TERRIFIC Tuesday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Life is a sandwich of the past and the future. It is a slice of the immediate between a slice of past and one of future.
John Kendrick Bangs

Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY

That's sure interesting about the origin of Hoagies!
I make a similar sandwich as yours, only using Italian sausage v. steak ... it's all good!
