ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 4TH, 2021
The moments our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is National Wildlife which is a celebration of the amazing plant and animal wildlife found in nature, It is also an opportunity to raise awareness about the many endangered species in this country and around the world.
If you have a zoo or animal sanctuary in your area, it’s quite possible that people in your community are already working hard to preserve animal life and educate the public about conservation.
Today is a great day to adopt a pet or donate to your favorite animal shelter or wildlife center. Help to make a difference.
If you can't see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY

Each spicies is a masterpiece, a creation assemble with extreme care and genius.

I like watching the wildlife here right around me. We howe squirrels, birds, chipmunks, geese and even an occasional ground hog that goes by right outside my porch window. It’s like have a front row seat to nature.
Fall is the time they starting gathering all the acorns that fall form the large oak tree that grows right outside my porch. It manages to produce a lot of acorns and will feed them all through the winter. Right now they are just beginning to fall and I keep hearing the ping, ping on the metal roof here.
Today is Saturday and my day to cook for the weekend and on the menu is:
Grilled Hawaiian Pork Chops
Makes 4 servings
4 boneless pork loin chops
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
3 tsp vegetable oil, divided
1/3 cups chopped green pepper
1/3 cup thinly sliced onion
1 can, 14.5 oz. beef broth
1/4 cup ketchup
2 tbsp. brown sugar
1 tbsp. cider vinegar
2 tbsp. cornstarch
3 tbsp. cold water
Hot cooked rice
Sprinkle pork chops with salt and pepper. Heat 2 tbsp. oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat. Cook pork chops until lightly browned..
In the same skillet, sauce green pepper and onion in the remaining 1 tsp. oil until almost tender.Stir in broth, pineapple, ketchup, brown sugar and vinegar. Bring to a boil. Return pork to pan. Reduce heat, cover and simmer until a thermometer inserted into pork sreads 145 degrees. Remove and keep warm.
Combine cornstarch and water until smooth; stir into skillet. Bring to a boil and stir until thickened. Serve with pro and if desired, rice.
This dish will make plenty to have leftovers for tomorrow.
It’s so nice to have such delightful weather for a long holiday weekend. I don’t have any special Labor Day plans. Just staying home and relaxing and enjoying the view from the porch.
And last but not least, DS#6 has asked for prayers for a friend of theirs that lost her mother recently. May the dear Lord bless this family with comfort and peace at this sorrowful time..
I hope you all have a SUPER Saturday!

Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their

Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

Hope you can enjoy the great outdoors this wonderful Labor Day weekend!
I love when humanity puts their differences aside and comes together to help the wildlife. Just last year amid the pandemic, the Montgomery Zoo put out a plea -- their food supplies were dwindling. In turn, all the grocery stores began donating all their near-expiring fruits and veggies (that) they would normally have to throw away.
