ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 25TH, 2021
The moments our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is National Daughers Day which is a day to celebrate and cherish our daughters who bring so much love into our lives. Although we don’t need a reason to celebrate our children it’s nice to be given the opportunity to pay our daughters some special attention and show them how much they are loved.
Today we remember to show unconditional love of our family, our beautiful creative and sometimes demanding daughters. For aging parings especially, a daughter maintains a level of connectivity and commitment that keeps families together. That’s not to say that sons don’t do their part, but today we’re talking exclusively about our daughters.
If you can't see the bright side, polish the dull side

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
I have to say how blessed I am to have a daughter. I also have 6 sons which also means I have 6 DIL’s and mine are just like my family. DD always wanted sisters but had brothers instead. And now that they’ve all married she finally has 6 sisters too. They are what the pictures are of today.
My daughter is my best friend. She calls me everyday and makes sure to include me in their family activities often. She’s on hand when ever I need her and we do a lot together. She says everything she knows about shopping she owes to me. It’s one of our favorite things to do together.
Today is Saturday and I’ll be making up something new to eat for the weekend:
Makeover Beef Stroganoff
1/2 cup plus 2 tbsp. flour, divided
1/2 tsp. pepper, divided
1 beef top round steak, cut into thin strips
2 tbsp. oil
1 cup frsh mushrooms
1 onion, chopped
1 garlic clove, minced
1 can beef broth
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup sour cream
chopped fresh parsley, optional
Coarsely ground pepper, optional
3 cups cooked noodles
Combine 1/2 cup flour and 1/4 tsp pepper in a large bowl . Add beef, a few pieces at a time and turn to coat.
In a large nonstick skillet, heat oil over medium high heat. Cook beef in batches until no longer pink. Remove and keep warm. In same skillet saute mushrooms and onions is the drippings until tender. Add garlic and cook 1 minute longer.
Whisk remaining flour with broth until smooth; stir into skillet. Bring to a boil; cook until thickened. Add beef, salt and remaining pepper. Stir in sour cream; heat through. If desired sprinkle with parsley and serve with noodles.
One serving equals 1 cup beef stroganoff with 1/2 cup noodles. I like to stir in my noodles and let it simmer together about 20 minutes before serving.
This will make a great meal to heat up again on Sunday.

Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

Having a daughter is a blessing.
You are certainly blessed, now with 7 pretty daughters! Tho' I only have one son, he sure found a winner in my beautiful (inside and out) DIL.
