ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 11TH, 2021
The moments our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is the September 11th National Day of Service and Remembranc which was originally launched by the 9/11 nonprofit MyGoodDeed. in 2002. This day supports the tradition of engaging charitable services as an annual tribute to the victims, survivors and those who offered their own service in response to the attacks on 9/11.
Today is also called Patriot Day which is a time to honor the memory of 2977 killed in the attacks on September 11th, 2001. In the United States the American flag is flown at half staff at the White House and all U.S. government buildings and establishments throughout the world.
A moment of silence is observed to correspond with the individual attacks beginning at 8:46 am EST - the time the fist plane, American Airlines Flight 11 struck the North Tower of the World Trade Center.
Reflect, remember and renew your pledge to honor those whose lives who were forever changed on September 11th, 2001.
To those fallen and those who survive. We will never forget.
If you can't see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Of Joys departed, not to return, how painful the remembrance.
Robert Blair
This is truly a day of Remembrance for me for more than one reason.. The fist is that I got married this day in 1965. The second is that my oldest son also choose this day to get married too many years later. The last but not least is the tragedy of 9/11.
It’s a bittersweet day for sure. DDH and I were able to have 27 years together, then n 1992 he died of a sudden heart attack. That changed my life forever too. DS#1 is now also dead but will always be remembered and never forgotten.
There are some things and people we can never forget and keep them right in our hearts where they are close.by us forever
However you celebrate this day, take a moment to pause and remember. Life is short and we should never forget to the tell the people we care about just how much we love them. We never know how long any of us has. And don’t forget to tell the stories of the special moments in your life that you’ll never forget.
It’s Saturday and life goes on so I must cook up something for the weekend today.
On the menu is:
Maple Mustard Chicken
Makes 6 servings
.
6 boneless, skinless chicken brast halves
1/2 cup maple syrup
1/3 cup stone ground mustard
2 Tbsp. quick cooking tapioca
Place chicken in a slow cooker. In a small bowl combine the syrup, mustard and tapioca, pour over chicken. Cook covered on low for 3 to 4 hours until chicken is tender. Serve with rice.
I substituted the tapioca with cornstarch in this dish because I didn’t have any on hand. You could also use flour if preferred .
I hope you all have a SUPER Saturday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
They shall grow not old, as we that we are left grow old; Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn them. At the going down of the sun and in the morning, We will remember them.
Laurence Binyon
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
9519 for bittersweet memories
9520. for a wonderful husband and father of my children
9521.for DS#1, my first born
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

Always remembered, never forgotten.
Such a beautiful couple! My goodness, that one of you in your bridal gown! I can sure see your daughter's resemblance.
Anniversaries of the heart.
Bittersweet memories indeed and what a pretty bride you were. Sorry for your losses.
Beautiful couple. Sending hugs for "your" day and how special it was to you.
